Brown also gave the ball away in a dangerous position in the second half IIRC. It affected him too (to a lesser extent because he has the pace to get out of tight situations by dribbling).

Can't remember that mate? Can remember a cross field pass to row N in the north stand though.

I remember it, think it was for either Izzy or Whack - simple ball in front of them, and Brown passed it about 5/6 yards behind them - shocking, as was most of the "simple" passing last night.......

Maybe it was Johansen, then (in my memory it was Brown). Definitely wasn't only Mulgrew, anyway. The point is that he (Mulgrew) looks worse when left isolated because Kayal, Brown and Johansen have a burst of pace to get themselves out of trouble and Mulgrew doesn't (even though Mulgrew has much better passing and close control than any of them).

cant belive charlie keeps getting a game for us in europe

and is kayal * cant he play more than 30 mins every month or something ?

am starting to come to the belief that we should just pack the midfield with 5 tenacious midfielders forget about wingers we get nothing from wide positions accept when its set plays

lets just try an outnumber the opposition in the engine room in europe, so that we can pick up the loose balls from our * passing and control

As much as I like Mulgrew, I feel today he again showed that he isn't a good enough midfielder to be playing in this system. Defensively he can be alright sometimes, going forward he offers very little and his passing seems to have got worse!

Better as a left back, but unfortunately for him, he isn't better than Izzy.

He won played of the year at centre half, that's where I like him best. However he cannot get near that spot at the moment.

I'd rather Kayal or Bitton were given a shot at centre mid alongside Brown. Never liked Chico in there.

Not a midfielder, the sooner Ronny sees this the better.

Passing has been off recently which is unlike him.

Have to note though, as no one seems to be taking it into account, he was carrying an injury and was playing through the paion barrier for months prior to getting it resolved and he is only a couple of games back into it.

I don't think you can disregard all the good work he has done because he's struggling a bit for form just now. On song his passing, his crossing and his dead balls are lethal and against any level of opposition which he has proved on numerous occasions.

His dead balls for starters have been shocking for that long that he's went from number 1 to at least number 3 behind johansen, stokes and guidetti as well as even commons ..

When teams are at it and buzzing around near him he's so flustered and slow he gives the ball away and makes a mess of it..

If he's got a team that sits back he can spray balls about.lovely but the reality is, most teams don't do that with us now(not any half decent ones anyway)..

    Really poor today..

Hate to see Chuck going through this bad patch. Good Celtic man and a real team leader, when on form. Hope he turns it round soon.

Kayal should be given an opportunity for him at the minute. If a player isn't performing well, he needs dropped, and that is the case for Mulgrew at the minute. He has been poor for most of this season when he has played. Kayal has done well whenever he has had his chance.
