Would love him on Sportscene, whenever Thompson or Miller say they think a decision that went Celtic's way or they say that was a "stonewall" penalty he can just say "do ya, aye. Ya raging aren't ya"

To be fair id say that was the keepers fault, its not like he badly miskicked the ball or massively over hit it and gave the keeper no chance, if the keeper was in the right area the ball would have went to him. Keeper was just standing too far out and too far left to where he should have been. The ball went right in the centre of the goal.

Is that a new keeper or the old back-up playing before they sign a new guy?

I don't know if that's their first choice keeper but I saw the first goal as well and he was chronic..

Palmed it straight on to a Sunderland head..

Reading an article that hes taken inspiration from Ronny in his coaching. He said Ronny had a philosophy and wasn't just about putting the best players on the pitch.

Interesting considering he was one of the players that allegedly gave Ronny a hard time. Also just putting all your best players on the pitch sounds like the previous coach

Charlie Mulgrew has embarked on his first steps into coaching this season.

The 36-year-old is now a player-coach at Dundee United in a move sealed after Liam Fox replaced Jack Ross in the Tannadice hotseat. While it's been Mulgrew's plan for years as he prepares for life after retirement from playing, it's his first gig helping train the first-team at a professional club.

The former Scotland international has enjoyed a decorated career and he will now pass on his wisdom to United's stars. And Mulgrew has cited former Celtic boss Ronny Deila as a big influence on how he views coaching. The defender worked under the Norwegian boss during his time at Parkhead and Mulgrew has explained how Deila tactical 'philosophy' impacted him.

I've had this in my mind for years now, probably since I was 30, maybe earlier," Mulgrew said on coaching.

"I remember when Ronny Deila was the manager of Celtic and, although it seems hard to understand today, tactics weren't as big a thing in football 15 to 20 years ago.

"It was 'get your best players on the pitch'. But Ronny had a style and a way of playing. 'Philosophy' is probably the right word because he did see the game a certain way and was adamant on it.

"You can go further back to Martin O'Neill. Then it was about keeping the players happy and getting your best players on the pitch; they are men who know how to win games.

The game has developed now and is a lot more tactical.

"So it was around the time of Deila coming in at Celtic that I started to think, 'How would I do this and what would it look like?'.

"I remember Ronny wanted to play attacking football, quick passing, possession of the ball but attacking at pace.

It wasn't necessarily about Ronny Deila. It was just that moment in time when I started to think about the game in a certain way. Two years earlier? I wouldn't have given the game a second thought. It's only now I think, "Ah, so that's why we did this or that'.

Every manager is focused on tactics and studying the opposition now.

"It is like chess. There's so much more data and access to information, and if every team is doing that, then you can't get left behind. You won't get away with not doing that work."
