its on sky sports news teletext . mark mcgee has said mulgrew is signing for us before the end of the week the deal is done subject to medical. aparently he turned down more money from sheffield united to come to us .

 

Not happy on this one . dont think he is anything better than what we have had before , Cant defend to save his life , Yes he can hit a free kick so can ki.
Will give the lad a chance in he signs but i am not delighted on this .

 

I'm happy with this, he will bring us more height in the team, extra options going forward, great set piece delivery. He also is only going to get better playing with better players. I will be really happy if our defence next year is Mulgrew, Mick, Campbell, Hinkel

 

i wouldnt,hinkel campbell yeah,mulgrew maybe not sure tho but MICK,we thought caldwell was a bombscare and hes better than mick

Apparently Mulgrew passed his medical yesterday (tuesday) and will be announced on Lennys return.

 

When is Lenny returning..I thought I heard Tuesday. The man is a hero to me but he needs to hurry up and get back from this vacation.

 

The end of this week as far as I know, he was due 3 weeks holidays but cut it to ten days...Oh, and Sol Campbells medical is today...

mulgrew is free and cheap and we need competition for that place so that if there is a first choice LB Coming then he is gonna have to work at it !

why cant we sign players and teach them how too defend. why cant we sign mulgrew and improve his defensive game. is anyone sick off celtic signing players and never make any improvement.

 

Im not too pleased with this, if it is just cover I wont mind but if this is supposed to be our new LB solution Im not impressed. People talk about him free kick ability, which says alot about him defensive capabilities, lets say he gets 6 goals from free kicks next season, he might very well cost us double that with defensive mistakes. We cant buy a player because he takes a decent free kick, I saw at fault for many goals last season, If he was any good he would have been signed by a top championship team or a Prem team. LB is one of the positions that must be improved and if this guy is cover, great but if he is supposed to be the solution I think it might end up being a bad signing but I hope Im wrong.

 

Good spl player but he is like Danny Fox. Very good technically and has great set piece delivery. My only concern is like fox he isn't the best defensively.

 

As Markeyboy said, I'm quite happy with this signing if he's competition for the first team, but surely upon surely we have our eye on bigger left-backs than Mulgrew.

He's not just poor defensively - he's simply awful. In fact Mcghee was trialling him on the left-wing such is his inability to defend. Really not the type of player our beleaguered defence needs right now.

 

Not sure about that mate...

almost certain he finished the season playing as their first choice centre half and McGhee praising him very highly for his performances there...
