I won't print names for obvious reasons, my info is from a colleague who is close to Charlies family.

But Lenny has no right going on holiday, he should be here sorting contracts and servicing the Celtic supports' every whim according to some on here and most other forums...:31:

So we swapped Mulgrew for Naylor then got rid of Naylor and brought back Mulgrew?

    Football. * *.

If Mulgrew signs then i have a sneaking suspicion that he will be the 1st choice LB, no other signing for that position as Lennon will bring back Graham Carey and let them two fight it out for the LB slot

When you sign players you think good....he can do a job.

We signed Hartson, a striker and we thought, he will score us goals.

Lambert and Lennon. Passing Good, tracking back Great. Destroying opposition - fantastic. Execellent attributes for midfielders.

Charlie Mulgrew - A defender, and the first thing that people say is, FREE KICK SPECIALIST. We have had a problem left back spot sinceI was born(1981). I would rather have a defender that could tackle and defend than have one that can whip in a corner or free kick.

Good investment if it works out though.

With Naylor doing a job for us for a while while Mulgrew was too inexperienced to play in the first team. Reverse that now, where it is time to move on from Naylor who has done his time i think, and bring back Charlie. Hope he does the job, i really do.

We have gone backwards the last few years due to Strachans policy of signing players from average SPL teams. At the very least the guys signed were the best players at their club at that time. Brown, Caldwell, robson, hartley, flood, riordan, mcdonald.

Since these guys arrived the quality of performances dropped significantly because although they may have been the best players at their mediocre SPL clubs they were not good enough for Celtic.

Mulgrew isn't even the best player at Aberdeen so how on earth is he EVER gonna be good enough for Celtic???

All SPL players are different though. There is no correlation or pattern to whether they will be good enough for Celtic based on each other. If they look they are good enough, they will often be given the chance. I actually think it is less to do with our managers' actions and more to do with the declining quality of players at other SPL teams, rather than Strach signing poor players.

Previously celtic and rangers could sign reasonable spl players that done jobs in the champs league !

We will always look to buy some domestic based players. Always. As will any team anywhere.

The league itself has declined in quality. As have players, but some are good enough to some good jobs for us. Perhaps poorer quality foreigners in recent years reflects poorer scots players.

i think lennon sees the young guy Milan Misun as the future at left back, therefore he'll be our cover next season....anyone we sign has to be good enough to be first choice and that's not mulgrew. a defender who can't defend

If you think the standard of football served up by these players was good enough then you clearly don't have a clue.

And don't forget those 3 were key players in the team that blew a 7 point lead including 2 pitiful 0-0 draws in last 2 games of the season to hand the worst Rangers team of all time the title. The year before they won 3 in a row on the last day of the season from the worst rangers team of all time simply because they collapsed due to playing 4 games a week. That rangers team should have been nowhere near the title they were that bad. They won a title n lost one on the last day simply because the players plating for Celtic were not good enough.

Maybe so but that doesn't mean we need to sign one of the worst LB in the league just cause he can hit a free kick

Charlie mulgrew will NEVER be good enough for Celtic. He's * worse than Naylor FFS

Robson signed in January and almost single-handedly won us the league that year. Robson & Hartley, best midfield pairing in scotland whenever they played, McDonald great scoring record including goals against A.C MILAN and MAN UTd as well as goals gainst the huns.......Clearly it is you who doesn't have a clue :38:
And for the record, this players where in the 3iar team that went on a winning run that ultimately won us the league, so dont give us the huns played too many games pish!
