Charlie is a great story. I still think he is a peculiar player who drives the game, in not that great as a LB defensively, far better at CH, has the odd gaff etc. He does the same job for this team as Caldwell used to do for us (and is undeservedly maligned IMO).

He's made a great contribution, provides versatility, excellent delivery, knows how to find the back of the net.

Right now he's brimming with confidence, long may it continue :shamrock:

Caldwell dreams he has the ability of Mulgrew though.

Mulgrew is far calmer on the ball, far better at passing, crossing, shooting, set peice taking and at heading the ball, hes also much faster than Caldwell. Caldwell's problem at times was he thinks he is Mulgrew but isnt as good.

Would say Caldwell also made a lot more blunders.

Mulgrew has played about 40 games in defence and has only made 2/3 errors.

Folks change in perception of him as a footballer and a person has been frightening.

He was a maligned squad player back up left back and now he is; a leader, a scorer, an assister, a headerer, an attacker, a defender and now the driving force behind winning the league.

I genuinely believe, with a dead ball, there are very few people that have his ability in Britain. When he has a game like yesterday it is harder to miss than to score with his balls into the box.

When he signed for us i thought he's be a squad player at best, luckily he had belief in his own ability and so did Lenny.

What a guy. * love him. That first half was the best performance I have seen from a footballer in a long time. I`m no gay but I have so much love for this man

Well said, far more all round player than Caldwell ever was for us.:50:
We better watch out,if he keeps on improving like that, there will be offers coming in for him from down south.

Can't wait to have Izzy back healthy and being able to play Mulgrew in the middle alongside him. Think we'll have a very accomplished defense for once. Never thought I'd be able to say that.

A far cry from the player who was torn to shreds by Johnny Hayes up in Inverness on the opening day of last season.

What a turnaround, what a player. Saturday's epic performance probably seals POTY for him. Either him or Super Joe, it has to be.

He's our prodigal son, and he hates the huns.

I said this many times last season, the amount of times he had to shift into CB and other positions and still put a good shift in was the mark of a good player.

Lennys best bit of business by far was bringing this bhoy back to paradise.

    well done big man.

Been outstanding what a change from him this season ,really never thought in a million years when we signed Mulgrew he would be in the starting 11 every week.

I am glad he proved me wrong and he should be one of the first names on the team sheet each week with a certain Joe Deadly Ledley.

Agreed! :50: I was firmly in the camp that the lad should never be near the starting squad when he first came back but I'm a believer now. Additionally, it took me a while to warm up to Super Joe, seemed to be a passenger in the midfield at first but now I appreciate what he brings to the team. Absolute champs the two of them.
