He never made the squad since he was already injured for the Cyprus game although Levein said that he'd have been called up had he been fit

He was called up least season but pulled out through injury. Before that he wasn't called up because like all of us Levein thought 'Charlie Mulgrew? nae danger!' I know I did.

Totaly delighted for charlie the day.I've been shoutin for years that he should be in every scotland squad, even since his aberdeen days.How Levein can have possibly picked that dum dum hutton, who can only play leftback badly btw,where as charlie can play at least 3 postions with ease.Well done Big man.

 

Personally I hope he doesn't play. Just a chance to get one of our most important players injured. I'd rather none of our players play in any internationals, especially friendlies.

 

Hard facts don't sit well on this forum. I've explained this countless times on here but it's easier for people to shout that Levein is biased.

 

So you hope that the guy doesn't realise an ambition that he will have had from being a boy?

I know some of the celtic support belive that no celtic players should play for Scotland which tbh is nonsense, its realy startin to look like the best scotland squad we have had in 25 years.dont get me wrong celtic always come 1st but playin international football will only make charlie better.

 

could not agree more, i think he has better set play delivery than adam also

 

People didn't really seem to be disagreeing with the fact that he was called up before, but the fact is there have been many squads where he has been fit and not called up, while Berra, who is a woeful excuse for a central defender, and Wilson, who has hardly played competitive football for the past 2 years, are included. Mulgrew is also far better than Crainey and Bardsley, who also get in the squad ahead of him.

If h wants to play then fair enough but personally I'd rather he didnt. With the amount of times he's been overlooked for EPL journeymen (bardsley), Celtc rejects (crainey) and huns (Wallace Hutton etc) I would have told them to * off if I was him. Celtic comes first for me and I couldn't care lea of Scotland win lose or draw some stupid friendly. Wait and see anyway, all the Celtic players will play 90 mins and the huns will be off after 60, pull out before or be 'rested'.
