All we need is for Benfica to draw twice against Spartak and lose away to Barcelona, and for us to beat Spartak in our last home game and we're in the last 16.

Should be aiming higher mate, no reason we cant beat benfica away if we play well , although they are good at home ,we are unfortunate to be meeting barca when our confidence away from home is sky high ,why could it not have been benfica now.

Barca away will be screened live in the Kerrydale Suite. Free entry but you have to book in advance.

Has anyone been before to watch matches on a beam back?

“Barcelona are favourites from the group. We and Benfica will be fighting for second place.

“Celtic are outsiders. The Champions League competition is about very good technical football. It has nothing to do with running after the ball that somebody kicked forward.”

    What a * :smiley-laughing002:

It took Barca 6 minutes to break down Benfica in Portugal and get their first goal. We will have to weather one * of a storm to come away with a point.

We are in an ideal position a position opposite any england/english team has had to face we have been quite simply wriiten off as the support structure of our group! Rightly or wrongly is up for debate and personally i dont care what british rags/media say about us they know nothing sitting eatin succulant lamb with blue blinkers on we are underdogs and tbh thats how we like it so lets hit barca with all we have i would love a point from six off of them but id love to beat them at CP COYBIG HH

We could get a point at home against Barcelona if we played really well and our defence/Forster had the game of their lives. I'm one of the most optimistic people you'll ever meet, but I can only see us getting tanked at the Nou Camp.

We'll pull off a historic result and win 3-0 in the Nou Camp and then draw 1-1 at home.

I honestly think we will score into Barca at CP. I'm not under-estimating them, in fact I think they're the best club side to ever play, but I have no doubts that with the twelfth man we can grab a goal on the break or from a set piece. Keeping them out on the other hand is another matter. If I was being realistic I'd go for a 1-2 at CP and a bit of a hammering away, but lets say 1-1 at CP and, who knows, maybe we can grab a 0-0 over there.

I think we'll lose both games against Barcelona. I'm all in favour of being optimistic but we have to be realistic as well, Barcelona are vastly superior to us.

I think we can make a game of it at Parkhead and maybe lose 1-2 or 0-2. The game at the Nou Camp is another matter, that could be whatever Barcelona want it to be. If they're in the mood to take 4 or 5 off us then they will. On the other hand they might go 2-0 up and just think 'job done'.

I'll be glad when these games are out the way and we can focus on the games against Benfica and Spartak. I think those are the matches that will ultimately determine our position in the group.

Whether we finish 2nd or 3rd will depend on how we perform against Benfica away.
If we get at least point i'm confident we'll finish 2nd.

I think regardless of Barcelona it will be Benfica away that decides our champions league fate. 2nd position counts on us doing Benfica away from home forget everything else.

PS 1st post in like 4 years. Epic eh?

Celtic will get beat home and away from Barcelona.

This imo means we will travel to Lisbon looking for a draw against Benfica to give us 5 point, then if we beat Spartak Moscow at home thats 8 points in the bag, good enough for 3rd place, but could it be good enough for the last 16.
