What can we get against Barca?

Last night was a tremendous result.

That’s now 4 points from 2 games. And more pleasingly, we didn’t look remotely out of our depth in either games. So much for "Bye bye Celtic" :87:

Our 4 points thus far are very much well deserved.

So what should we expect against Barca?

Top seeds have come to Parkhead before and left with nothing or a point at best. But Barca are hardly just another top seed. They are an exceptional side with exceptional players. Therefore, it would be no disgrace or surprise to lose both games.

However, in a one-off game, and with a bit of luck; perhaps we could nick something either at Parkhead or away. Remember, the side we disposed of last night went to the Nou Camp and were close to getting three points!

Even if we only got 1 point from 6, I’d be pleased.

I believe there is potential for a shock.

I don't want to get carried away after last night, but at home we're capable of anything.

We will be pumped in the Nou Camp I reckon. I can see a headline 2-2 draw at Celtic Park though. :50:

I'd be beyond ecstatic with 1 point out of the 'possible' 6.

We can beat them at Parkhead. The crowd will be buzzing and the players will be full of confidence.

I'm as optimistic as anyone but getting anything from the Barca matches looks an impossible task, maybe a point at the most but we should really be concentrating on the Benfica and Spartak matches.

1 point away and 3 points in Paradise.

Celtic are one of Barca's bogey teams!

Celtic have now not won away from home in the Champions League group stage in nearly 15 hours.

Why not 6 when you've got a player like Samaras

Seriously though, we can go into these Barca games and really have a go. It's unlikely to come down to goal difference so * it, we've got nothing to lose. I think we can score against them, it's just a question as to keeping them out. Worst case for us would be losing both and Benfica winning both their games against Spartak and even if that happens there's only 3 points separating us and they have to play Barca again.

Spot the people on that poll who are still on cloud nine from last night. :smiley-laughing002: I'd be overjoyed with 6 points but even I'm not that optimistic. I think we are definitely capable of taking 3 points at home and I think we'll probably take at least 1 point with everyone behind the team. Playing at the Camp Nou will be tough but hopefully we'll give them a game. As no one's expected to take anything off of Barcelona, anything's a bonus. It's the games against Spartak and Benfica that are 'make or break' for us in terms of having European football after Christmas. Exciting times.

I'd like to think that a draw at home to spartak would guarantee us 3rd but I see spartak taking something against benfica.

St Johnstone are up there mate.:icon_mrgreen:

Get something out of the Parkhead game against Barca and focus on the other 2 games with Benfica and Spartak ,I don't expect anything away to Barca.
