We need to adopt a relaxed approach to these games and we will be fine. We have nothing to lose lennys got us in the CL and anything else that happens is a bonus!!

I'm the guy who's delighted to have Miku, not the one questioning it because they haven't seen him play and jumping on typos. :celt_2:

Barca and celtic have very strong connections and if it comes down to barca doing us a favour I think they will.

Wrong thread but stella is my friend!

I'm not questioning it at all, i'm just saying i don't understand people who say this should get us 2nd place in the CL when they probably haven't even seen them playing that much. And the typo thing was a joke btw, happens a lot on forums etc:50:

    It was hilarious. :50: :50::50:

For the record I don't think we'll finish second. Just giving my two-pence on Miku.

Ciaran second place was plausible before the signings and even more so after the new signings :50:

Why would you want that? I'd rather they hammered us, than went easy on us and gifted us a victory over them. That would feel very much like cheating.

Miku will be a class act, if he can score 12 goals in La Liga, 2 against Real Madrid and also against teams like Valencia, that equates to a barrowload of goals in the SPL for the lad, and sharpening his boots in that arena, scoring goals for fun should you imagine fill him with confidence when we play against Benfica (who have JUST been confirmed as losing Garcia to City) and Spartak Moscow. Cover in defence with a Nigerian Silver Medalist Ambrose, who looks mobile and skilful and strong in videos i have watched.

I think before these signings, I was hoping we could pull of second. Now, with the back up keeper sorted too, Miku and Ambrose and the class of Kayal, Wanyama, Hooper, Mulgrew, Forrest...

    .... i dare to dream ;-)

I'm very pleased with these signings - but they will not, imo, significantly influence our Champions League chances. The games are too soon for these players to have really bedded into the team.

Miku as a predator could always bag us a goal here or there, but CB is all about the partnership with the other CB and your fullback, which only develops with time.

Check the bookies odds, you'll note our signings haven't altered them in the slightest:

    Barcelona - 1/7
    Benfica - 9/1
    Spartak - 14/1
    Celtic - 40/1

I should add to that, I personally think we are good value at the bookies - Victor Chandler offering 6/1 for us to progress to the last 16.

That is worth a punt, in my humble. :50:

3RD or 4TH nothing has changed, its between us and Spartak for the Europa Cup place, but if we had made another couple of signings things could have been better and celtic would have made millions out of qualifying behind Barca.

Bookies also had Owen as 2/1 to sign tonight...
...but then he might still sign before Monday....

Anyway, i think we had a chance which is now more of a chance. Pressure is off, and we are underdogs. It will suit us. Teams are in for a fright at Paradise.

We haven't lost a single first squad player (Kudryashov and Sheshukov were bench warmers at most, Rojo didn't settle at the club at all). And brought in 3 stars (Kallstrom, Romulo, Insaurralde), potentially 4 (Jurado).

Agree with the first part, disagree with the second.

Another couple of signings & our qualification odds would still be about 6/1, same as they are now.

True we are the underdogs, its a win win, celtic arent expected to do anything, but they might surprise some of the other clubs, we are a wee team in european terms now, so we just have to cross our fingers, legs, and anything else and hope for the best.

Yes but if we had some experience from 1 or 2 new signings it would help our chances then celtic would have a decent chance of last 16 qualification.

Aye, most of us on here just fancy our chances because of how good we are at home. Away we're more realistic about our chances but I still hope we could sneak a lucky point or three.
