Champs League Group, All Chat In Here.

Im not going to be too nervous for the game,knowing we have Europa League to fall back on.We've already gone beyond expectations of how we would fare in this group.
Barcelona will be going for it against Benfica,they will want to keep their great home record as we would if the roles were reversed.Hard to say how Moscow will take their game against us,they might go all out to get revenge and maybe some pride back.
It's going to be an interesting night of football what ever happens.

 

I know and I will be very nervous as well, but at least we have the EL as a fall back. I would have been really frustrating to be kicked out of Europe after beating Barcelona.

I rather fear some of our players may actually leave because the have put up such a good show in Europe and got the interest of other clubs...

 

I agree: not enough rotation, leading to lack of match sharpness, but we do seem to have a general problem with stamina in our team.

I'm hoping the Jim McGuinness connection will help improve our fitness across the whole squad. I know he's primarily come in a sports psychologist role, but if you look at the kind of stamina and fitness he's instilled in Donegal, it's quite incredible.

 

Awrite lads, IF we make it to the last 16, here are all the possible teams we could get:

Man Utd
Bayern/Valencia
Shakhtar/Juventus
Dortmund
Malaga
Schalke/Arsenal
Porto/PSG

So 11 possible teams at this point, and this list will be reduced to 7 names after matchday 6. IF we make it through, I think Malaga would be the "easiest" draw. Shakhtar or Porto also potentially winnable as well.

 

Id take PSG but regardless of who it would be itd be a tough game cant wait 2 weeks to know what we are doing COYBIG

 

No matter who we get it'll be tough and the return leg will be away. Not going to think about that until we are 100% in that draw.

 

Think Ibra would absolutely terrorise us if we got PSG!

 

Id like Arsenal,revenge for the qualifier a few years back.They're no where near as good a team as they were back then.

 

Going to be a very competitive CL knockout phase...Won't matter, 1st or 2nd seed - they will be battles

 

Malaga wouldn't be the 'easiest' draw in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind getting drawn against Shakhtar or PSG. But would also love a German team for the away game trips. This is if we're even going to be in the last 16 by the way

benfica will pretty much get pumped in barcelona the question is will we win?

Think we are in better position than Benfica, even if Barca play with Bartra, Muniesa, Montoya etc. they are still at home and will do everything to win and prove themselves to Vilanova.

What I'm worried about is that Spartak are now 4th no matter what they do, so they'll be under no pressure and that allows them to play without weight of expectations. It will be tough, we need at least a point to go through.

 

I think if we get Real, Manutd, Bayern, Juventus or Dortmund, we will lose....... every other team i think we have a chance!

 

I think man utd could be beaten if I'm honest.

 

Man United. I think we could take them handy enough over two legs. Arsenal as well. Avoid the German teams, Real Madrid, Juventes and Shakhtar
