    Just shows you how meaningless and deceiving stats can be.

    Villarreal were the better side and deserved to go though.

    They could and should have won by more than 1-0 in the first leg, and Bayern had all the ball in the first half of the second leg and done barely anything with it.

    Better team won.

    Hopefully won’t come to it… but just shows you how misused the ‘guaranteed’ word was in the case of our league and the automatic UCL qualification….

    I’ve been sceptical about this since first mentioned a couple of years back.… It’s been bandied about as an absolute certainty under every scenario and permutation for months now… when in fact there were still (and are) factors that could work against us.

    Not my interpretation or definition of ‘guaranteed’ by any measure.

    I’ll take it as ‘guaranteed’ once I see ‘Celtic’ in the pots/draw for the groups… not before..
