Unbelievable result. As a few have said, the best way to describe that was clinical. Astana are no mugs and we pulled their pants down. Ntcham is a class act, but thought the whole team done well tonight. Delighted. Not one dead ball chip and we still won 5-0.

    wow, just wow.

I thought a 2-0 would be nice, important not to lose an away goal but the team and manager absolutely exceeded any expectations.

big shout to nir bitton, you played well son.

    mon the hoops :ynwacelti

    We were filthy tonight.

Some rocky moments in the first half when things were a little bit tense. I thought Brown and Tierney were our best players in the opening period when we were struggling to get our more creative guys on the ball.

Lovely work from Lustig and Rogic for the first goal, and two lovely finishes from Sinclair put us in a brilliant position.
Sinclair got better as the night went on, but it was Griffiths who really grew into the game. They just couldn't cope with his movement and, as Steven Gerrard said on BT Sport, it was a selfless performance. Any lingering doubts about the quality of his link-up play are quickly disappearing.
A quick mention for Ntcham, too, who showed he can add real value to the team on the European stage. Strong, technically good, and very calm in possession.

Although we did get better as the game went on, the Kazakhs absolutely crumbled after 55-60 minutes. They looked like they'd thrown the towel in.

Although Bitton was decent again this evening, he is still not a central defender, nor is he good enough to get himself back into the midfield. We could really do with another
    centre-half.
We also need something extra in the final third, that much is absolutely clear. Imagine if Sinclair were to pick up an injury, or Griffiths' calf went again. Hopefully there is movement on the Patrick Roberts deal.

Anyway, a good nights work. Enjoy it, Bhoys, wherever you are.

The way they were kicking lumps out of our Bhoys in frustration was very reminiscent of the club that died when they couldn't get near us.

We didnt even play to our level i still thought we had another gear to go into, what a result.

Seems as though brendan has ironed out the small weaknesses that take you from playoff level to group level.

    Superb :party22:

Don't believe the hype. The Astana manager said before the game that tonight's result won't matter and that they'll be in the Champions League next Thursday.

Great result. They were decent in the first half. It could've been 6 or 7-0 though.

They won't win by 6 goals next week. Full strength though and great experience for our team.

    Here we go!

    Excellent performance

Scotty Sinclair and Griff were brilliant , Ntcham looks like a real find for us.

Great to have the GB back as well!
