Market pool in this country when the tv is the same all over. Uefa looking after the 'big nations' The strong teams will get stronger and the little nations will get weaker, there is no fair play in Europe at all. The money should be distributed equally and fairly.

Great to see the official figures, time for the board to give a bit more investment I think.

Ridiculous that Man City earned more than us despite going out with a whimper in the Group Stage.

If Uefa are serious about financial "fairplay" then surely they should make their distrubution of money fairer. I know each team gets X amount just for qualifying but the market pool will only results in the bigger clubs in the bigger leagues get stronger and stronger and pushing further away from the smaller nation teams. This will results in a less competitive competition. All the money should be split evenly, obviously the teams who go further earning additional prize money. Maybe they fair doing this woul dresult in the bigger clubs wanting to form their own European competition though.

The Market Pool is the TV Money. All countries bid to show Champions League games individually and whatever a country bids thats the amount of money given to teams from that country.

The UK is bidded for as a whole package, of that the Scottish team gets 10% of the total money (As Scotland is 10% of the UK), the English teams share out 90% of the other money between themselves.

I assume its maybe the same with Scandanavian countries, maybe they all bid as 1 Unit and since Nordsjaelland were the only team from there who made it they got all the money? and that would explain why they get so much money as its 3/4/5 countries money together.

£14.26million in the bag just by winning tonight, just in TV money and for reaching the Group Stage.

Add in say 160,000 tickets being sold at about £25 apeice is another £4million.

So basically we have just pocketed £18.26million for winning 1 game :56: with another £4million up for grabs for wins and draws. Add in sponsorship bonuses from Nike and Magners for reaching the CL, the additional food/drink/swally/merchandise/programme sales for the 3 games and its probably about £20million+

For the run we had last year in the Champions League we made nigh on about £30m in total, including everything from TV rights to the match tickets. Imagine if we have another excellent run like that this season?! About £60m within the space of two seasons :88:

It just goes to show how there really isn't an Old Firm anymore.

The imbalance has never been greater.

    Long may it continue.

And as their market share declines in regards to sponsorships, ours increases.

And so much for this "armageddon" that Regan had predicted happening in Scottish football, and that Scotland "needs a strong R***ers"

Does Scottish football benefit financially from our success?

These * on the board have absoloutley no excuse now. Never mind "well look what happened to rangers" excuse. We've took in shitloads in transfer fees and now another guaranteed £22m. If Lennon doesn't get some serious financial backing now he should walk.

If that's the case then how come Real Madrid and Barcelona both reached the semis last season yet Real made £23m in this market pool thing and Barcelona only made £20m? I cant imagine Spanish TV paying more for Real's games than Barca's.

I just don't see it happening  Every season we're linked with a must have not bad player and it all turns out to be pie in the sky. I have a feeling Celtic are always going to be bargain basement hunters hoping to buy cheap and sell on for a bigger buck :54: While that makes good business sense it's not very exciting for the fans. I want them just for once to put their money where their mouth is and buy a decent striker. You have to speculate to accumulate :celt_2:
