Anyone think we can still qualify from Group E?

Well.....if we beat Man U and Villareal at home and the Danes away, would 10 points be enough? Maybe not if Villareal and Man U draw in Spain.

We actually need a point at Old Trafford to have any chance.

If we lost the Man away game and Aalborg pick up zero points then the group would read...

    Villareal 11
    Man U 11
    Celtic 10
    Aalborg 1

which would be a real sickener playing Villareal in the last game needing Aalborg to get something at Old Trafford.

This is how i think ( hope ) it works out as

Villareal to beat Aalborg in spain but draw with them in Denmark..
We get beat in Manchester but beat them in glasgow
We win away to Aalborg and Man utd win in spain
    Celtic beat villareal last game

    Man utd 13
    Celtic 10
    Villareal 8
    Aalborg 2

Well if you offered me 10 points as our final tally for the group stages I would definitely take that.
Not impossible to not qualify with 10 but I would fancy our chances.

based on realism with a good hint of optimism, here's what i see happening in the group:
    Villa 2 v 0 Aab
    Man U 1 v 1 Celtic
    Celtic 1 v 0 Man U
    Aab 0 v 1 Villa
    Aab 0 v 1 Celtic
    Villa 1 v 0 Man U
    Celtic 2 v 1 villa
    Man u 3 v 0 aab

    Villareal - 13 pts
    Celtic - 11 pts
    Man U - 8 pts
    Aab - 1 pt

Us and villa go thru, the mancs knocked into the uefa :icon_mrgreen:

wishful tihnking but most certainly not impossible!!!!!

No chance we'll get anything off Man United with our defence.

Lets just not bother playing Manchester United then, give them the 6 poits now and rest players for Villareal and Aalborg?

Manchester United are not exactly on fire yet and its been proven many times already this season they are beatable.

Manchester United's defence is hardly the best in the world either and we will get goals against them. Remember last time we played them in the group stages, we put 3 goals past them in two games. I would say going forward, we are better now than we were then.

We can still qualify and a win in Manchester or even a draw would be great.
I think that we're starting to rely on other results in the group though and I never like doing that.
