Some fans are just happy to be in it which is fair enough, just being in the group stages obviously brings benefits and I don't think those of us who wanted an easier group so that we'd have a better chance of progressing are saying that we'd rather not be in it or anything like that.

We might be coming across as negative but we're not really being negative, we just had a preference to be in a group which gave us a better chance of progressing which I don't see as a bad thing. I'm aware that even in a so-called easier group we'd be up against it but my sole desire for us in the Champions League is to win as many games as possible and to progress as far as we can.

Just because we haven't been in the Champions League group stages for a couple of years shouldn't mean we should just be grateful to be there, that's not really how sports work. You always want your team to go as far is it can and I'm not saying you don't want that, but I don't think the fans that wanted an easier group should be criticised for it.

That isn't the number 9 mate. Their number 9 was Nwakaeme.

Im not really having a go mate tbh...just imo im happy to be there after 3 years...Yeah its barca again, but a new near lineup and stunning top 3 players.
I did want the Leic group as well to give us a chance but after it came out then i was just happy with the 3 glamour ties.

Yep you never know,we beat them 2-1 ....so we could surprise yet again.

I just cant wait tbh.....regardless of the competition

I'm not really against glamour games myself as they can create some of the greatest nights in our history. Our European history is flooded with us beating the biggest and best at home.

My first thought will always be to get in what I would see as the easiest group as possible. When it got down to the last two groups yesterday I was itching for us to get group B, but it's almost inevitable that we end up in the hardest group possible.

My ideal group would be one glamour game with two easier ties, but this group is three extremely difficult ties. It is of course exciting to be back in the group stages, no matter what group we're in

Barca and Gladbach have a European pedigree, while Man City do not. I'm probably more excited by the Germans than the Mancs, but the English-Battle of Britain aspect always enlivens the event.

Man City is a more prestigious tie for numerous reasons.

That being said I wouldn't be surprised if moonshinegladback finished above both us and City.

With uefa giving the top 4 places to the big leagues in the 2018-19 season it could mean celtic might have to play a extra round in the qualifying rounds wich will mean 4 rounds to play its a * joke if that happens :47:

Yet when you read it, it's going to ignore country co-oefficiant and go by the club which ours is good so maybe less rounds? It's still not clear what they meant by club points unless country's less than 20% or something

Last season I would probably have agreed with you. I think Pep will make them a more effective outfit in Europe though.

We will be like Molde last year. Suprise everyone and finish top.

City fans already think they are gonna beat us and muchen easy enough and only concearned for Barca. Lets do them in one leg at least.

As far as I can make out the structural changes largely benefit us? in next seasons CL . Champions route etc remains , club specific past glories coefficient bump etc
Bad for rest of Scottish football particularily the Sevcoians who as a new club have no history whatsoever. Sad that! ;-)

Afraid of City for the fact they have Guardiola now, would of fancied us before that.

    It'll be Lustig at RB.

Plus I don't think Aguero will be out on the left wing much. Probably Nolito.
