Champions league draw!

Rather spend it and at least be completely unstoppable in the SPL and competitive in the CL to an extent we don't get humiliated, Celtic isnt about just making money, what is the point of the money from the CL if we dont use it to reinvest, the same mistake we have been making for years, hoarding the CL money after a successful run, back to square one to rebuild from scratch again.

 

You just know that's what he going to do. Can see 2/3 loans coming in with big razzmatazz.

 

Have you seen Gladbach play the last few years? Cause if so you know that's simply not true. Obviously there's always a chance in footy but they are massive favourites home & away

People are making a big issue about those who are 'happy just to be there', but let's be realistic, how far in this competition would we actually be able to get anyway without absolutely breaking the bank and spending £20m before the window closes?

We've never been beyond the last 16 in the current format.

We have only got out of the group stages a mere 3 times in the last 24 years, since the competition was reformatted.

History suggests that we would not be getting out of the group in any case, so why should we not be happy that we have made £30m already, drawn three great clubs, and some of the best players on the planet are once again gracing the Parkhead pitch? These are the games you live for as a football supporter.

MON spent millions as manager here and never got out of the group stages. He's still remembered as a club legend. Rodgers has not yet had the chance to build his own side, but * willing, we will make it to the quarter finals of the CL and maybe even beyond at some point in the future.

However, it will not be this year. Just enjoy the ride and the experience, however long it lasts.

 

CP will be full and rocking no matter who we got in the CL. So, imo, we be as well get teams that we are more likely to beat/draw with as that helps the coefficient and then we might reduce the number of pre qualifiers we have to play.

 

Went on a city forum to see what they were saying about drawing us expecting "easy 6 points" etc....

Agree mate. As a bayern fan, I couldn't wait until he left. I know he won 3 titles in a row in Germany, but turned a machine into * in Europe. Heynkes won the CL the year before he came in , and imo, he ruined Bayern , especially in Europe. He never had the same type of player in Munich as he did in Barcelona, but he tried to play the same way. Hate to say ot though, he might have those types of players at city. He wasn't well liked in munich too, a lot of players didn't like him.

 

They have a better team than us, more quality but that doesn't mean we can't beat them on the day. They sold their best player this summer and I would definitely fancy our chances against them at CP.

 

we don't have to go mental but if we spend enough to start making inroads to becoming a better team than that's got to be the ultimate goal IMO, if we say make 30 id invest 10/12m in making the squad better, so we get humped? lets get a strong squad and go again next year.

 

Let´s be totally realistic here.

The Gladbach matches are totally open we could get 0-6 points from them.
Barca and City are on a much higher level then Celtic and Gladbach but with we can always get some points out of them.

3rd place is totally possible.

Agree, I want it spent on the best we can buy, but peter has previous.

2 loan deals on deadline day, one squad player signed the day before. This is what I've become used to. Just maybe though one loan deal is of a decent calibre.

I can accept we would be overwhelming underdogs in nearly every group. It's just the repetitive nature of the draw. That's 3 CL campaigns in a row we've drawn Barca.

Swap them with Real Madrid and i'd be happier with the draw
