I hope they don't dive about and cheat like most Italian teams. I can seriously see us beating them at Celtic Park. We will do well to get anything over there though.

No thank you, don't need a reminder. :thumbsdow

I think one of the biggest questions we have going into our European games is, who starts up front?

I can't imagine us ever using a two man attack, unless we really need a goal. Will Samaras continue wide left, with Boerrigter available? Stokes and Pukki are our best strikers, yet Balde is probably best suited for the style we'll play in Europe, in my opinion.

I saw an article saying the new barca coach has been drilling the team with practicing set pieces due to that being their biggest weakness ... That and they are a very one dimensional team (which might change with new coach)

we might see a different barca squad this year.

One of their players saying we have no chance
due to Milan having superior firepower!

He is only a young guy and maybe he has never heard of Vietnam. Superior firepower does not always win you the battle especially if your heart is not in it. Barca also had more firepower up front but they ran into a giant wall named Foster.

Barcelona need taller players as well. We can crowd their box with 6-7 players, all good to excellent at heading. Covering all that won't be easy. Although I do believe Gerardo Martino will make Barcelona better at defending, in general. Milan will not fall to crosses/indirect set pieces, though. Maybe a direct FK could work, if Samaras/Pukki can force the Italian defence into fouls.

What are you expecting us to do? Bow down and go, oh it's milan we're playing lets just not bother turning up?? We know who you are, but we're celtic.. We genuinely believe (and have proven) no matter what team we have or no matter who we are playing we can win, Especially at Celtic park!

Balotelli is the key if we can keep him fairly quiet we will have a massive chance, biggest mistake City made was selling him

What was more cringeworthy, Gilardino's dive, or Dida crumpling to the ground like a sack of spuds?

My uncle who just died was an AC Milan fan. He was born in Italy.

These games will have more meaning for my family, I think.

Well noticed this newspaper is well known for its bullshit especially regarding all things Celtic . I never even opened the link and knew it was bullshit :50:

I watched that game in the gif in the same bar as Gerry Creaney , could nt help myself looking at him from time to time and feeling a bit sorry for him :56:

First off, those SES quotes are absolute bull, they're no where in the Italian press. Is the daily record like the daily mail or the sun? Meaning absolute garbage?

Second, I've seen you guys all pitching your (what I assume) are you preferred line-ups and formations. But from what you guys told me in the other thread and from what I'm seeing here you're more likely to favour a flat 4-4-1-1 as your regular formation. Or am I completely wrong in my assumption?

As for the underestimating and the likes, me myself, I don't even underestimate the likes of Verona anymore, we usually either tend to play like complete **** or we play a great game, we rarely have any performances that are on the middle ground. I'm mostly optimistic because we tend to do decently at home and you guys tend to struggle a bit in away games.

Aside from that I fully believe it can go either way no matter the difference in quality of the squads. A game is not played on paper.

As for all the Balo admirers on here, I'm pretty sure you won't be so enamoured with him by Wednesday. I'm seeing some of you expecting diving, be ready to see some Olympics from Balo :icon_mrgreen:

I'm pretty sure u could sue someone for publishing fake quotes so I highly doubt any newspaper would just pull sentences out of their * BUT I think he did say it but was probably took out of context (which the daily record tend to do alot)

Their defense is weak. We have to get at them.
