Anyone else here Colin Murray signing the Celtic version of 'just can't get enough' this morning? He was singning it in the background in a section where a punter comes on and gets a free bet.
I was surprised when I heard it. Fair play to him though!

this i think might be our starting lineup

    no fear shown

and ledley dropped for mulgrews superior passing

hope to * neil doesn't shoehorn mulgrew into the left side or leftback as he will get exposed rotten

wouldnt it be brilliant to see us playing these teams away from home without fear and to be as open and attacking as them

or am i too much of a dreamer :52:

Milan don't even play with wingers, how will he get exposed at left back ? Their attacking full back is out and Zaccardo is a natural centre back, Mulgrew won't be troubled.

Let's not jump the gun here...anything can happen. Milan beat Barca 2-0 last year. Maybe Ajax can surprise them too. We must win 7 points in our home games, and some 2-3 points away, to be assured of going through. That's the only certainty.

    I'd say 8 points for last 16.

A win here would give us a massive boost - but Ajax must lose all their games and Barcelona must win (apart from us).

Would prefer 3rd tbh - we need a run deep into Europe and the experience of actually knocking out big teams over 2 legs.

Yeah, Barcelona can be beaten over one or two games, but I feel that over six games the quality always rises to the top.

Put it this way, if either Milan or Ajax steal a march on Barcelona, we're pretty much *. We need Barca to win the group, and us to battle it out with Milan and Ajax.

Zaccardo isn't a natural centre back. He is a right back and even started the 2006 World Cup as Italy's first team right back. He has played at centre back, but it's not really his position.

Right back or centre back, I think the main point is that he is also pretty * :smiley-laughing002:

    Forster
    Lustig Ambrose Van Dijk Izzy
    Matthews Brown Mulgrew Samaras

    Stokes

I think that's how we'll go tonight, personally would like to see Boerrigter in but I feel Lenny might just be a little conservative and go with Matthews at RM.

I agree that we need Barca to finish top and practically dominate for us to have any chance of going through. Similar to last year's group actually, it's a straight out battle between the three other teams to get second place; with the odds stacked firmly against us.

While everyone talks about how great achievement it is to get through to the knockout stages (and it is), I would be very happy with a Europa League run. There'd be absolutely no shame in 3rd place in this group, and hopefully our European adventure would be a wee bit longer. Meaning the season wouldn't fizzle out around February.
