Don't really think it's calling Milan weak, more saying not as strong as they once were.
Our quality has depleted, but we're making it back to that level as has been shown last season.

But this is their forum, they didn't come to a Milan forum to say that our team is weak. I'm telling you this because if it was the other way round we wouldn't appreciate someone constantly putting our team down in our own forum.

On paper we should be able to win but a game is not played that way, and it only takes one lapse in concentration off a corner for us to be on the back foot. I just think that after all the experiences we've had as Milan fans the last thing we should be doing is being overly confident

Bear in mind, we've beaten a Milan team considerably better than this one only six years ago.

May seem like a long time, but not necessarily. You could argue that we have a stronger team now than we did in 2007.

    Calm down mate..

You've had plenty of respect on here,a team the size and stature of Milan with the history in this competition inparticular deserves respect..

Right that's enough of my * licking..

Anyone on here knows that a full strength team of Milan and full strength team of ours going at it then on paper there is always one winner..
Thankfully games aren't played on paper and with abit of luck, good on the counter, take the 1 or 2 of the few chances we will get and be solid at the back then we could come away with a draw or dare I dream a win..

Whatever happens we are just glad to be back in with the big boys, and it doesn't get much bigger than this group..

As long as we don't finish bottom I'll be quite happy!

Meh, I wouldn't put too much stock on that game, as I was discussing with another poster in the group thread, that was probably one of the worst Milan sides of the last decade or so. Finished 5th in the league that season and got spanked by Arsenal in the last 16. It was a team filled with old players, Kaka being the only real player at the top of his game anymore at that point.

    No problem :86:

Myself personally, I just feel that I shouldn't step on any toes when visiting opposition forums, I just signed on here to see your thoughts on the game and discuss your team's tactical approach and such. I always enjoy good pre-game discussion with opposition fans

Sorry mate, what a * team that was. Only Dida and Gattusso I would say weren't absolute legends of the game!

Yeah, but I still believe something fishy went on that night. Their game away to Deportivo too.

I don't believe the strength of each team is THAT far apart, certainly not as far as you are making it sound.

I believe we will get something in Milan, but we could quite as easily lose by a few. I don't believe it would be seen as a huge upset for us to beat you in Glasgow.

In terme of individual, i can't see one of your player in our team. That doesn't mean you are a poor team, just the fact we are better. Unfortunately,, we are not at Level we used to be and show more weakness. We are clearly the favourites, but it's true that nothing is sure. Maybe you Will win maybe we Will win. I tend to think that we will finish second, but at Paradise, i don't see us win, a draw is more likely.

Like I say, Milan have previous for that kind of thing (like away to Deportivo, where they threw away a 4-1 lead from the home leg, losing 4-0 to go out). Weren't they under Berlusconi on both occasions?

I don't know what it was; but for a team as strong as that Milan team to throw away a 3 goal lead in a game of that importance to a team as mediocre as that Liverpool side...no way that was on the level for me.

We don't have the money to buy the calibre of player that your club has. Obviously Milan have the better team, on paper.

However, we have enough heart and passion to make up for it, as Barcelona found out to their cost last year.

Oh come on! You only say that about Gattuso because he was a Rangers man, admit it! :icon_mrgreen:

At the time he was one of the best in his position, an absolute beast that covered a midfield with 3 #10s

Nah mate, it's something very typical of Carlo's Milan. At that time we should have probably at least won 1 more CL title, but had those absolute master piece games to thank for not doing so. It's something we tended to do a lot when we thought we had it in the bag. There were reports that the players were celebrating during the HT in Istanbul. Obviously we were a bit unlucky considering Liverpool only played for about 6 minutes of the entire 120, and there was that Sheva miss from about 2 yards that anyone would have bet their house on him scoring. But what can you do? It's football, which is why I'm no where near confident that we can win the game on Tuesday. And in this group, if we draw against you it might as well be considered a loss because we'd already be at a serious disadvantage because in theory this is one of the game where 3 points is a must
