Aye, think he conveniently chooses to forget what happened the last time his team came to Paradise.

Can someone block that milan fan, he is not contributing with something. It's nothing to discuss, he just wants to annoy us. I guess he's 12 or so.

He's gone, mate. The Prof banned him above. Genuinely the first ever time I've been happy to see someone banned.

Cruel game. Don't we know it. Draw would've been fair.

Stokes needed to hit the target after that nice piece of footwork. Wasted our corners as well. Maybe Brown could've done better when it opened up at the top of the box.

I know what you mean. When Scott Brown lifted the SPL trophy last season I punched the wall from rage and when Tony Watt scored that second goal against Barcelona I thought I had enough and almost took my own life.

No doubt mate, but I would just hate to see us reach a glass ceiling. If we are to get to a Europa final, or further than the CL last 16 then we need to show serious ambition. The fans have it, most of our players have it, and you better believe Lennon has it, so the board need to show some too and back him with big bucks once in a while. This season was probably the only season in Celtic's history when we actually could have afforded to spend 10 or 15 million pounds on a player.

Now I know nothing is a guarantee, and the larger the fee the bigger the risk, but at the end of the day the likes of Basle and Celtic will only ever get so far, to win something you simply have to spend money. There is no other option.
1967 is a long time ago, and will never be repeated. By anyone. Nowadays to win you NEED to spend.

    See above.

To think what might have happened if Stokes' free kick had been a few inches lower :54:

Or if Xavi had cleared the ball and Watt hadn't gotten on the end of it. It's not to be a contrarian, but just to say that we'll have moments in the future that make you feel that intensely, but in a good way. :50: It * sucks, but that one time in the future will make it worth it.

I'll take proving we're better than Milan in the opening game.

I don't even qualify that as glorious failure as it wasn't. We were the better team and they lucked a win from a certain draw. They are the poorest Milan team I have seen in well over a decade.

Must say i'm extremely proud of our teams performance tonight! Some people on here need to gain a sense of perspective on here, look how far Lennon has brought this club. We are actually coming away from the San Siro gutted that we didn't win, nevermind take a point!

I was really impressed at how comfortable we were in possession at times compared to away European performances of just 2 seasons ago, and IMO the team played with a maturity beyond their years at times!

Proud to be a tim tonight! :50:

That result has knocked me for six. Am so gutted. A draw was fair. Milan will be stronger in the home game with there players back. We need to beat them and Ajax at home. Try get a point in Holland. And need Barca to beat those two home and away.

Us taking anything from Barca is a bonus.

The statement "the hardest thing in football is scoring a goal" rings true tonight.

Was unbelievably gutted at full time, but now? Nope.

We just outplayed a team who have spent more in a year than we have in decades... their B team no doubt costs more than our 1st.

Celtic fans tonight will be excited and confident of the next 5 CL games.

Milan fans will be cleaning out their y-fronts at the thought of entering the lions den.

It was glorious failure though. Just like it was in the Nou Camp last year. Or the last time we played at San Siro. Or in both games vs Juventus last year....

I'm sick of it, frankly. When something keeps happening, consistently, over years not days or months, then there's clearly a reason. I personally am not content to just sit and be "proud of our bhoys" whilst blaming bad luck, or cheating, or the world being against us.

So, so often i've seen Celtic be the better side in Europe but get absolutely nothing to show for it. You could even add the Seville final to that list. It's a chronic and incessantly frustrating problem we have, and I * hope and wish we can fix it soon.

    And we still lost.

I don't think we proved we were better than Milan either, after losing 2-0 that seems a silly thing to say. The teams were pretty well matched and they got a lot of luck with their first goal, but if we had taken our chances we'd have been ahead and they would never have had that goal.

Just hope when they come back to Celtic Park we put the ball in the net.
