Well done Spurs and Pocchetino even without Kane, that was some game and incredible resilience. What knockout football is all about, very happy for them even if I don't have an affinity for Spurs, not a team I have a connection with.

When the goal went in and pep was jumping about mad I did think "wouldn't it be great if VAR ruled this as offside". Mad how football is like that now.

I don't even think it was offside as the ball just took a deflection off his team mate, don't think it was a pass. Doesn't matter anyway cause I hate man city. Get it up them.

 

Incredible game var just added to the entertainment never a dull moment when both teams just don't give a * about defending, so glad we won't have to hear any more pish about a city quadruple.

I don't get it either, it's almost as if you extend the logic then you may as well say referees are pointless and linesmen and I was going to say the guy behind the goal but he already is pointless heh but VAR is just in it's early stages and it'll take some time but so far as I've seen it more decisions have been correct than not.

Like anything involving human judgement we're going to have mistakes but nowhere near the same as if we're just relying on the linesman or ref because in the ultra fast play of modern football it must be a nightmare making the right decisions over 60% of the time so VAR is a great help for refs, linesmen and teams and fans.

I can't understand any argument against it. Soon there will probably be AI for linesmen's decisions because it's basically like Hawkeye in tennis how quickly computers can judge the line and if the whole body is on line or behind the defender.

In tennis it created mayhem and a backlash, especially Federer said he hated it and it disrupts the flow of the game. But if your brilliant shot gets called out you really are going to be * off. Hawyeye is fast and precise.

Linesmen will still be needed to look out for other fouls AI can't handle like dodgy play we seen in the Scottish Cup Semi when Ferguson was catching a grip of Eddy after a tackle and Eddy push him away '* off'. sometimes the victim can be penalised for that *.

 

If Liverpool could send Barcelona out, then the final will be interesting, no matter who wins in the Ajax- Tottenham game.

 

Just think the vast majority of people against VAR are total cavemen. Most decisions are cleared up fairly quickly, and it adds drama to the game. That game would still have been great without VAR, but it was enhanced by it - in addition to getting the correct decisions.

Correct. If it comes off of a team mate, then you can be offside.

VAR for offsides you can't argue with , as the ref in the studio says, "Factual decisions" with the replays.
