I think the league is pretty much down to Lawwell now. The pool of players we have at the moment will not win the league.

A couple of signings that are ready to go straight into the first team and we might. Those would preferably be a direct, combative, tall CF, and an older, experienced CB who is no frills but does the job.

We're going to struggle without N'Guemo over the next few weeks.

Why isnt Josh Thompson getting a game? He's a 6'4" Central defender.

Was thinking that myself for a good while. But I guess Mowbray uses him only because of U-21 rule where he must have 3 players around. Same thing with McGowan, they're making bench just because of that.

But I'd like to see him in action, looks like a proper beast of CB, literally.

I really want to see Thompson get a run against Morton, I know it's not the strongest of competition but at least we will get a sense of his ability (or lack of).

i honestly believe the answer is samaras paired with a speedy striker that can finish. sammy is such a handful, was brilliant today imo, and would have won us the game had it not been for a miracle mcgregor save. i like fortune and skippy, just need someone with genuine pace.

i believe part of the solution to our problem could be to bring in a quality player with good experience or even 2 ,i remember ajax having a very young side and being inconsistent untill they brought in rikaard think the win cl after .

I thought Fortune was immense today and was unlucky not to come away with the goal so for me we should be looking for his strike partner, an out and out goal scorer.

As for the defence, no more limited defenders please! We've got enough of them.

He's meant to be very well thought of.

Why was there no man on the front post or even in that are when steven davis (the kick taker) put one hand up to signal that the ball was going to be delivered to the front post area? :31:

And the marking was atrocious especially having just scored, we badly need a commanding centre half or 2 in and quickly!

How can Mowbray be blamed for the team not taking their chances, or for that matter them conceding. It's up to the defence and the skipper of the side to communicate and be switched on. The manager cannot play the game for them. He prepares them as well as he can. They have played well so many times this year, but, look at the likes of Samaras, he has missed an abundance of chances- it's ridiculous- but at the same time, has played ok and scored a few, same with MAF and Skipp.

aye it was a good header but if fox is on the near post where he should be then he clear's it he's standing 3 yard's away marking nobody and boruc should make sure his 2 post's are covered it's mistakes like this that have cost us all season

Totally agree a centre back and striker are priority...
Maybe should go for 2 centre backs though as Loovens proved a bit dodgy in yesterdays game.Everytime he had the ball at his feet I would panic.Caldwell actually looked comfortable. We need a dominant centre half and a goalscorer. Why are we not slapping 2million and taking That Leeds striker Beckford. He would crack it easily in scotland and europe.

get the 2 of them to * fed up watching loovens passing to caldwell then caldwell launching it up to there keeper.loovens must be the only defender to come from holland who isnt comfortable with the ball at his feet

After yesterday i thought caldwell had a good game ,but man that loovens is just pure and utter *.he craps himself when the ball comes to him and yet again plays a square pass to caldwell.this man will have to be replaced.if caldwell does go then who will lead the line ?? we know of his faults but he will be missed
Hand on my Heart now,Sammy great work rate at the minute but struggles to get the ball in the net at times,do we keep him and every game come on this forum and say the same old pish...well (on another day or he was unlucky or why did he balloon that over the bar)as good as ppl think he his, we need a striker that will score 1 out of 5 times and not 0 out of 5.so for me we must keep Skippy and punt Sammy
