Gravesen wasn't actually that bad, scored a no bad amount of goals for a defensive midfielder.

Wikipedia says he scored 4, but that only counts SPL, but even at that, its wrong.

he scored twice against Rangers, and a hat trick against St.Mirren.

Depends how you look at it. For the amount of money he cost in fees, wages and termination of contract, he was a very bad signing.

He had a few good games but generally was mince

This guy is not much better than Naylor if any better and that isnt good enough. He might suit our style with his overlapping runs forward but defensively he is very shaky

Come on Dempsey, the guy aint much better than naylor lol. so what he is 34, far better player than lee Naylor, You dont play for Arsenal and Barcelona if you are mince. And before you say Gravesen played for Real Madrid 1 season big diffrence. should have a poll on that one mate.

He went from Arsenal to Celta Vigo, brought in by Barca as a squad player. Big difference. Arsenal werent that good back then either, nothing like they are now

Have you actually watched this guy play? He's a defensive liability, not good in the air and he's legs are on the way out. We can get much better if we look harder

Same as lubo mate his legs where away, everyone said, a journey man in france and germany.

Yep have seen the guy play and in my opinion he is a far better player than lee naylor will ever be.

Bit of experiance and even if its for only 6 months, would be a good move.

Far better? I disagree, he's arguably better going forward but defensively prone and he would be found out against physical teams.

Lubo was technically gifted so not having the legs didnt really matter, he made the ball do all the work. People expected Gravesen to resume his Everton form here, that didnt happen. He's not another Cafu waiting to happen either, very wishful thinking.

A full back in GS's system has to get forward and support the winger off the ball, Sylvinho's game is all about his running forward and tracking back. He's age is firmly against him

He cant be any worse than we have although i dont think hes the solution as we seem to be in to buying cheap oldies instead of better quality younger dearer players

P.S I turned Ronaldo on with my tesco knickers anybody see that at the side of the article:56::56:?

Not a bad player, still got plenty of drive and enthusiasm for the game. Would be a great signing. The only thing id worry about is the lack of games hes getting at his current club, at that age you need to be playing regulary. anyhow sign him up

    Today's Sun.

BARCELONA left-back Sylvinho has admitted he WILL consider a January move to Celtic.

The Brazilian star has fallen out of favour with boss Pep Guardiola and is available for a bargain £500,000 because his contract is up in the summer.
Sylvinho, 34, confirmed the Hoops have held talks with Barca. He revealed: “The interest from Celtic is real. I spoke with sporting director Txiki Beguiristain about it in the summer and again recently.
“It’s great that a team like Celtic want me.
“If things continue the way they are right now, I will certainly consider an exit in January.
“I still think I can do a job for Barca and my age is not a handicap.”
Ex-Arsenal ace Sylvinho holds a Spanish passport and wouldn’t require a work permit.
A deal for the veteran would help the Hoops plug the problem left-back slot.
Mark Wilson has filled that role after Lee Naylor was hit by fitness and form problems.
But Sylvinho would be a low-cost solution and would be okay to play in Europe.
He faced Celtic in the last-16 of the Champions League last season but hasn’t played in La Liga this season.
Sylvinho added: “The coach doesn’t want to play me and I have to accept his decision.
“I don’t think I’m inferior to those who are playing and don’t regret signing a one-year deal in the summer as I still have confidence in my ability.”
Meanwhile, the Hoops have been linked with 6ft 5in free-scoring Austrian striker Marc Janko.
The Red Bull Salzburg star, 25, has bagged 20 goals in just 16 games.
But his price could hit £4m with Roma and Bayern Munich also interested.
