Of course they are raging but it doesnt get away from the fact that loyalist lynch mobs will be out for blood and they will get it one way or another. Is it really worth it? Not to mention the fact our fans and club will be dragged through the mud if anything does happen. Three tv stations bidding on this game, Sky who couldnt give two * about us or scottish football let alone Irish football, why? Cause they know trouble will happen..

I agree with Millerntor. We are at risk in places like Holland, Turkey, Poland but we will accept tickets for that.

Fans could easily be shipped to and from a Nationalist area and beyond that it would be the same as any away day, keep your wits about you and stay in groups.

If police can't guarantee the saftey of our fans then Linfield should be kicked out the competition.

Maybe they are doing this to eliminate the risk of expulsion from the Chamions league should any trouble arise.
Even if it's the scum that start the trouble we would surely be dragged into it putting us at risk of action from UEFA
    Not worth that risk.

Thousands of Cliftonville fans can make their way to Windsor Park and can tell us that it can be segregated effectively. The crux of the matter is that if our fans safety can't be guaranteed then neither can our players if folk are going to be out 'baying for blood'. Celtic therefore have to request the game be at a neutral venue. We will be more than happy to not take tickets so we can wash our hands of any fallout that would obviously occur from what our own fans do.

No offence to Clifonville but they are no marks in terms of world football, Celtic on the other hand are massive and will be seen as a scalp on and off the pitch..wont happen on the pitch.. Clifonville fans will generally come from one area of Belfast which would be handy enough for crowd control, Celtic fans will be coming from various different routes. Clifonville fans also know the lay of the land up there far better than most Celtic fans traveling will. Clifonville also play these * four times a season at least, no big deal, this is Celtic, a once off, they will be foaming..

Celtic's potential Champions League qualifier against Linfield in Belfast will be moved to Friday, July 14, UEFA has confirmed.

The Parkhead side were paired with the Northern Irish champions at the draw in Nyon on Monday.

They will meet if Linfield defeat San Marino side La Fiorita in the earlier round, but concerns have been raised over the original scheduled dates of July 11/12 as it clashes with Orange Order marches in Belfast.

Talks took place in Belfast on Thursday between representatives of both clubs, the Police Service of Northern Ireland and Police Scotland.

Following those discussions UEFA has now confirmed that the game will be pushed back to July 14.

A UEFA spokesperson told STV: "Following an agreement between the two clubs, in case Linfield FC qualifies to play in the second qualifying round of UEFA Champions League, the potential first leg match between Linfield FC - Celtic FC will be played as follows - Windsor Park, Belfast on Friday, 14 July 2017"

Previous Champions League ties have often had their order switched but Linfield have said that they are keen to play their home leg first to maximise their revenue from what would be a high-profile match.

If Celtic aren't taking any fans to the match in Belfast i hope the Linfield management are happy (NOT REALLY).
Hope their management finally realise that their supporters a well as themselves have to come out of the 17th century and int the 21st century.
It's an absolute disgrace that these hun scum are allowed o basically dictate how a club is run.
Although, what can you expect when their elder brethren in Oldco, now copied by Sevco, have been doing the same thing for 140 years and is being copied by Sevco since their inception in 2012.

At the end of the day, if Linfield/Polis are saying that it is safe enough for our fans then we should be taking tickets. If they suggest it isn't safe enough, and presumably their also therefore has to be concern over our players and officials, we should be asking UEFA for the game to be played at a neutral venue.

This has been blown out of all proportion.

I find it disheartening that our players will have no backing in Belfast.

Maybe, Celtic could gt in touch with a ferry company to ask them to lay on an extra ferry for Celtic fans going to Belfast and it is booked through Celtic travel meaning only Celtic supporting ticket holders can get onto it.
That would mean no huns getting on to stir up *.
There would be enough space on one of the ferries for Celtic's whole ticket allocation as capacity is just short of 2,000 passengers and 400 cars.

Agree. They get the support in Israel and can't in Belfast. * shocking. Not often we get our team on our doorstep and when we do it's about to be ruined.

Should be a neutral venue or Linfield papped out. Disgrace that because the bigots we have to change our schedule.
