Not that it matters but I couldn't tell you who was what religion there.

Could be 2 Catholics could be 5 or 6.

    Who gives a * anyway.

Agreed mate, only responding to earlier point made about majority of their team being from nationalist areas.

I would be familiar with the Irish League and majority of their players, not just basing it on their surnames :celt_2:

I think our fans will behave themselves. Our fans have an impeccable record in Europe. However its a certainty that the Linfield fans will start with their pish.....all their blood and thunder no surrender bullshit. To which our fans will retaliate....guarenteed. But hey ho, UEFA and the club for that matter cant expect none of our fans to go there just because there's a bigot fest going on. It is our country after all. We have more right to go to Belfast than the hoards of loyalist neanderthals that'll be crammed on the ferry from Stranraer. Would sevco tell their fans not to go to Dublin on St Patrick's Day???? Naw. We're going and thats that. If they think the arrangements are inconvenient....then cancel the 12th altogether. That'll fix the problem.

I may have got my calculations wrong.

    I also never mentioned religion.

My point being was i can't understand anyone from a nationalist area playing for Linfield.

Not you. I just didn't see the point of the other poster trying to count how many catholics were in their team.

    I wasn't talking to you.

It's a strange one right enough, although surely a good thing to help break down barriers.

Pat Fenlon ex Hibs manager...now managing in Gaelic football....played with Linfield from 1994-96. Right at the end of the troubles aswell. Its not that they have a blatently sectarian signing policy or anything (like oldco until recently), its just that they seem to attract the more hardcore hun scummery in the Belfast area. Glentoran are also followed by the hun scummery but I think their bastardry could be measured on a slightly lesser level. Its the Linfield fans that are the *....in the hun triangle with sevco and Chelsea........So naturally they are due a pumping from their gaelic, nationalist superiors.

Agree. Linfield trump the Glens and Crues for me.

Pat Fenlon was with Waterford Utd the last I heard. Certainly didn't have him down as a GAA man

I don't know why UEFA didn't block this match from happening.
They block teams from Russia playing Ukrainian teams,
Teams from Gibraltar cannot play Spanish teams.
Teams from Azerbaijan cannot play Armenian teams.
So why not block Celtic from playing Linfield.
The UEFA organisers should have been notified about this and advised what could happen especially around hun marching season

I think the situations surrounding those blocked fixtures are quite different to a few bigoted Linfield fans.

This match wouldn't be a problem,it's just it's around Orangefest,Celtic played Cliftonville, which i attended home and away, why should Cliftonville and other teams miss out because of Linfield,i personally know a linfield player who has been going to Celtic matches from a kid, this must be a dream come true for him to play Celtic and at Celtic Park

Can the Green Brigade no organise another massive big march to the stadium??? Like they could go right through the city centre and up to Windsor Park with the masks and the flags and the green flares etc. Its marching season after all. Does that no mean everybody gets to march?

Of Course Im not serious. It would just be interesting to see how * off loyalists would get if you paraded up and down their street shouting and singing about how much you hated them...........Marching Season..........but we're not allowed to get * off now......its all culture and tradition.......that makes it ok to be a sectarian * bigot......because its cultural and traditional.

I could wear the same trench coat as my grandfather wore and carry about a rifle like our father's did walk up and down the street protesting against the British... and I could build a big * bonfire...actually hundreds of them....and burn models of the Queen and Ian Paisley....but Im not allowed to do that.......that would be provoking...and promoting sectarianism.
