Now that a few days have passed starting to feel wee bit more confident we can get a few points in this group, the media aren't expecting much from us and fan expectations has been lowered too.

Less external pressure and having a point to prove could work to our advantage and bring out the best from our players. I actually wonder if the emphasis on "fortress parkhead" gets to the players heads.

I still think we are a settled defence away from being the kind of team to go very far in Europa league

Watching anderlecht 1 up at half time but really nothing to fear against them, look poor. Hope we play our own game and attack them, forget about the psg result.

Losing 2-1 now. Should really aim to beat this mob home and away...very average side.

More dropped points today as they drew 2-2.

Maybe it's the blind optimism talking, but i think we can get all 6 points vs anderlecht. They are dropping points to teams much worse than us.

Might be easier said than done fangroups calling for his head. The Belgians in chaos is a good thing whether they sack the manager or not. A new coach would take a while to implement his way of style!

Only problem with a new manager is, * or not, they almost always get an instant reaction which eventually tapers.

I've made a mint off betting on clubs that have brought in a new manager for their first game!

Agree 100%, players have to prove themselves all over again.

Existing coaching staff are remaining in place and taking temporary charge, best case would be that they are still there come next Wed

It will be also impossible to predict how a new manager will set up for his first CL tie in charge.
However the fact they are in a bit of disarray and lacking confidence must be a good thing!

Would've preferred they kept their under-performing manager in the hotseat until after the game as it throws a bit of unpredictability into how they will set up etc. On the other hand it does show they're in poor form and are definitely beatable. Hopefully all those who made hysterical comments on here last week about us getting done in Belgium are made to eat their words.

Can go either way. Usually get some sort of reaction, although if we score first it can make it a helluva tough start for whoever takes over..

I'll take it as a positive. Anderlecht will want to concentrate getting their league form sorted. Their priority will be to make CL next season (as is ours). So a new guy at the helm should be taken as an advantage. Well take goals all day against them, but defence have to be stingey as *!
