Lennon Miller would be my first signing.

Despite his age, he’s a proper athlete and already shown he can cut it in this league. Box to box player and he is only going to get better - I think he’d add stamina and physicality to our midfield. Celtic fan too.

Tierney already a done deal but again he will add physicality and power to the team which is severely lacking.

On top of that, I’d sell Lagerbielke, Nawrocki and Welsh and use that cash to sign someone to partner CCV. He was poor today but he’s been a colossal for us over the last few seasons. If he goes then we need 2x first team CBs as Trusty can’t be trusted.

We need a RB to compete with Johnston.

A BIG DIRTY DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER WHO LOVES A TACKLE.

Proper number 9 and an attacking midfielder.

I think you have made the point but Miller wont be enough, we need a combative midfielder capable of playing moreover. Tierney coming in will be good but we still need to add a bit more steel to a relatively lightweight side

Id hoped Engels was going to be in the Mctominay mould but i really feel that the physical side of his game is lacking. Barnardo has more about him in that sense and it will be interesting to see if he can come in and offer something when he returns from injury.

It's all about the midfield. McCowan for me isn't cutting it so I'd be trying to offload him and replace him with a proper experienced, powerful midfielder. A marquee signing. Happy enough with the other options although we need to be working on a better system for them.

Honestly don't think we need a lot numbers wise, a few ins and outs will keep us fresh. Just please * come up with some different ways of playing. That is by far the biggest issue, Rodgers having no clue how to combat * pressing us. It's a * joke.

McCowan is needed for the Scottish quota.

After yesterday’s performance, can’t lose Maeda because when the chips are down, he has the bottle and fight to keep going and stay in it that others don’t have.

It's a UEFA thing, a rule we have to consider whether you like it or not.

If Maeda goes we are in trouble and need the summer of all summers.

Jota and Kuhn would be the only attackers worth their salt. And the latter has been miles off it for a while now.

It’s not really. We bring nothing through in the way of youth. Where are you expecting these Scottish players to spring up from?

McCowan is a useful asset to have against the rest of the league for depth and being able to step in if there’s an injury. He was * yesterday but he’s proven that he’s a useful and cost effective player to have around.

When you look at it, our squad is so thin at the moment.

I think we were seriously lucky that we didn’t get a couple of injuries soon after the window closed in the front 3.

It is. There were two boys on the bench yesterday I'd put in ahead of McCowan. I want quality in the midfield, and I mean proper quality, with guys like Bonnar and Turley providing backup and progressing at the same time.

It's the one position we can't afford to be loose with now, we need much much better.

To me this will all come down to who stays and goes from our side. I don’t think big leagues pay that much attention to our domestic league, they probably look at statistics for stylistic fits but will have watched our European games and how our players faired in the Champions League.

I think there will be interest in a good few and we need to be careful to not have a similar scenario as we did in the COVID summer where we had Ajer, Edouard, Frimpong and Christie all wanting away and Brown going a year too far. Forster decided not to come back too, so 6 key players all not what they were the season before.

It looks like Taylor will be off and there has been rumoured interest in no fewer than Johnston, CCV, Kuhn, Hatate and Maeda. We sold our main striker Kyogo and didn’t replace him in January.

Schlupp isn’t our player and Schmeichel who has largely been excellent will be going on 40 next year. McGregor and Forrest will be another year on too.

We also have the players from 2 summers ago in Kwon, Tilio, Lagerbielke, Nawrocki, Palma and Holm (out on loan until new year) to sort out. None of who seem to have a future. Yang has kicked on recently but the jury is still out there.

We have a lot of money in the club but have not shown any likelihood of having a big net spend or one at all really. We also have a manager entering his final year of his deal bringing uncertainty.

There isn’t actually that many players in the squad you would call completely settled. Even amongst those you are talking about Bain, Ralston, Scales and Idah, none of who are regular starting players and there’s questions whether they are good enough.

Where I doubt all of those with rumoured interest will leave I think 2 definitely will possibly 3.

For me we need as a minimum

    - Tierney for Taylor
    - Back up left back
    - Centre back (pushing the starting two)
    - Defensive centre midfielder, good ball winner and can carry it forward
    - Attacking midfielder, good press resistance, goal threat (replace O’Riley’s contribution from last year)
    - Striker to lead the line.

    Beyond that

    - New RB if Johnston goes
    - New CB if CCV goes
    - New RW if Kuhn goes
    - Possibly another box to box CM if Hatate goes
    - a miracle if Maeda goes

I am also nervous about Schmeichel falling off a cliff in terms of his performance level and would go for Jaros from Liverpool, he’s a good keeper desperate to come be number one somewhere and out of contract.

However, I think the sheer volume of what we have left ourselves to do will be too much and we will likely go into next season short.

McCowan was not the worst yesterday, and he didn't simply hide like some others. The team simply didn't perform, and there was no control in the middle of the park. AJ had his worst game, ever. Kuhn looks like he's in the huff. CCV is showing signs of being unfit, and Schmeichel causing panic amongst the defence is a problem. We do need new blood up front and in midfield. I suppose it depends also on who leaves. It will be interesting to say the least. Let's hope it's done on the back of Treble.

Like the posts above for me we need to be absolutely ruthless with squad management like Ange said. We need 17 players who are all the best quality we can scout afford with the numbers made upto 25 using the best Scottish homegrown or club trained talent. If one shows they can cut it they move into the core 17 eg: (Tierney,McGregor).

The core squad should all be guys who can or have shown they can operate at European competition level, signed with the view to develop them into better higher value players, then sell them at peak value if they wanna go. I actually think if it was done right it would see us develop a higher standard of club trained and home grown player as long as they’re exposed to the level required at the right age/stage in development.

    - CDM to compete with McGregor
    - ST
    - CB
    - CM box to box midfielder with some athleticism and power
    - RW to compete with Kuhn and Forrest
    - RB to push Johnston
    - Schlupp

Assuming nobody crucial leaves which I think at least a couple will, probably Kuhn and Hatate at a minimum so they would need replaced as well.
