Another duff result. This team really is awful.

Scored half the goals the huns have. Less than City, Hearts and Hibs as well.

Seen a few Arsenal fans saying they’d like Sadiku at the club. Take her.

That was far from impressive.

Wasn't like this was an entire 'B' team either, to save players for CL or whatever, as they women have an International break coming up.

At a stretch the only mitigating circumstances might be the travel factor of coming back from Madrid on Thursday, the windy conditions today and still getting used to playing at their new 'home' ground, but really scratching a 1-0 win v Spartans is pretty underwhelming, any way you slice it.

Considering Fran Alonso's last competitive game in charge of the Ghirls was the 7-0 defeat of Spartans in Dec 2023 (less than a year ago), that is a pretty spectacular backward slide.

And remember, we only won the league last season by virtue of GD - a pretty big chunk of that GD was built up under Alonso's tenure. Can only perhaps say those aforementioned mitigating circumstances, but really, we should be doing much, much better than a 1-0 against Spartans, nevermind that of the top 5 sides, we have the smallest GD at this stage (+23). Far too often only barely seem to be doing just enough with Elena Sadiku as boss.

At least Sevconettes drew 1-1 with Hibs - and Hibs had a pen saved which means Sevconettes salvaged a point, so we did slightly close the gap on them, and we do still have a game in hand on all 4 of the teams currently above us on the table...

The Ghirls are back in action later today after the International break.

They are Away v Motherwell.

First game back from the International break. Not too many were involved away with respective national teams. Still no Gallacher in the starting XI, but apart frm that a pretty strong team. There are a couple of games to tune up before the Chelsea CL game.

That said, the immediately important thing is cannot allow any more of a gap to open up at the top of the table. Yes, Celtic still have a game in hand over GC, Sevconettes, Hearts & Hibs, but even if they win tha game in hand they'll still be a couple of points behind City's pace.
