I'd be very surprised if it were that amount. Just take a look at their results against the huns in recent times. Even this season. As the commentators said today during the match, go and find out their foul count against us and compare it to that against the huns and then tell me they're as "competitive" when playing them.

They would only get a huge amount from the CL (approx £2m) if they reach the play off round. As they would be in the best placed path I would bet my right nut that they will not make that.

Watched the game on the stream on Firstrow, commentators even talking about McCalls mini Huns foul stats v us, compared to v Rankers. They mentioned a website where you can see the stats , any know it ? Didn't hear the name !

More than 53,000 there today, according to BBC. Impressive stuff, considering the average home attendance for non derby, pre-split games is around 48,000.

    Keep it up :50:

    * *, get a grip.

We're over twenty points clear in the league, and we're playing some great stuff most weeks. The commentators today were cringeworthy with that *.

When I hear talk of "conspiracies" against us on behalf of smaller clubs like Motherwell I really do despair.

Motherwell have been easily handled by both ourselves and Rangers this season. Simple as that.

Three points in the bag against a team who are nowhere near close to us as far as class goes, so they have to try and rough us up. Big deal. It's a mans game. We take it, dish out some of our own and win the game.

Enough of that from the both of you. Discuss the match in a mature manner.

We narrowly won 2-1 at Fir Park earlier in the season and we’ve only marginally defeated them today.

The only game I can think of where we’ve given them a good trouncing was the Cup Final last May. I suppose they had no other choice but to go for that.

The stats don't always tell the whole story though, do they?

It could come down to differing styles in how both Old Firm clubs play, how Motherwell manage to cope with certain types of players and so forth.

I'm sorry, but I'm simply not buying into the idea that players, especially players at smaller clubs who aren't being paid a lot, are willing to forego win bonuses and indeed the money they would make from finishing 2nd rather than 3rd just because they want to stick it to Celtic.

McCall's job is based on him winning games and keeping Motherwell performing at a certain level. If he doesn't do that, he'll end up getting the boot.

To suggest that he's willing to go into games against Rangers with the intention of losing is simply ridiculous, and seems to be a worrying trend among Celtic fans who are looking for evidence that everyone is out to get us.

    I'm not buying it.

McCall always lies down to Rangers. That's not even debatable.

It's absolutely debatable. It's almost ridiculous to suggest that professionals lie down for any other club.

There have always been teams who have lay down to Rangers.

Chris Sutton was bang on. Was he paranoid as well?

I wouldn't suggest that teams lie down to them per sa. What I would say is that the demographics suggest that there would be more players willing to go the extra mile against us than them. Anyone who remembers Bob Malcom's shambolic attempts at a performance for Motherwell at Ibrox in the 07/08 season eg, would certaily have their suspicions.

No, I'd say he was more likely frustrated and upset at the time when he made that comment.

he made similar comments in his book and has said it on plenty of occasions since retiring so a doubt its out of frustration. imo teams don't lay down to them but a don't think it can be argued that a guy like mccall will obviously have his players more fired up for a game against us than he would them and it goes the same way with ex-celts who manage against us or them

Motherwell are always a tough nut to crack and today was no exception. They had seven men across their defence anytime we attacked and I think they were playing for a draw, and they played their usual brawling dirty tactics, but that one moment of brilliance from Hooperman was enough to draw their sting, and make them open up a bit. I thought Sammy, Mulgrew and Rogne all played very well, and I would just give Sammy MOTM over Charlie.
