There's been a lot of games over the years that have proved you can never take Celtic lightly when we're at home......anythings possible:50:

Their fans seem to think all we're going to do is foul them and they are worried about injuries. Ignorant *.

Hope we play some great football and Twinkletoes Tam shows some of his fancy footwork. Oh, and Sinclair scores.

    C'monnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!! :ynwacelti

Its been said already. But i have to say i think we give the top teams to much respect.Yes we know they are good but it seems as a unit(fans and players)we have accepted we will be beaten ,period.I,d really love to see a bit more hate from our fans and perhaps it would filter on to the pitch.Im not saying lets get get nasty but lets show a bit of bollox!what ever the result lets make sure they know they have been in a game.

They struggled to beat Sunderland and the Red Imps would pump them.

Listened to that phone in last night ( yes I should know better )and that walloper Keevins " 400 million team this and 400 million team that " * it !!!! Brendan should dip into his Jock Stein bible tonight and go round his 11 players with one message " win your own battle " if a majority of players win their own battle we will not be far off a result .... we've played better and tougher teams than Man City over the years MON THE HOOPS !!!!!!!

I think Dembele AND Griff should both start.
Dembele is on fire just now and we need Griff making runs in behind.
We need to give ourselves every possible chance of scoring as I fear they are guaranteed to score. They just have too much quality going forward and our defence has been shaky at times.

    Gordon
    Lustig, Toure, Erik, KT
    Brown
    Forrest, Rogic, Sinclair
    Dembele, Griffiths

Bitton should be nowhere near the first team. Doesn't deserve to start.

Brown can be the rock in front of our defence like he did for most of the match against Hapoel at home (worked well WITHOUT Bitton).
And going forward, between Forrest down the right wing, Sinclair left, and Rogic in the no.10 role, all playing in their best position, and BOTH Griff and Dembele up front, if they all link together? We will score.

Hard one between Forrest and Paddy, but I'd start Forrest based on his form right now. With Paddy defo coming on to feature at some point.

I reckon the magic will be back at CP tonight, I can see us taking points off these * :celt_2:

I'm sorry but that team would get slaughtered. Open up against the likes of Silva, Sterling and Aguero and we're onto a hiding.

You see that's one of the problems with Guardi-*-ola compared to lesser managers. He won't let his players be complacent and will have them fully prepared and motivated.

    The c***. :smiley-laughing002:

I like your optimism but I would imagine that team will get destroyed. Having 1 man in front of the defence would be suicide. I get what your saying about Bitton but he is the best we have at the minute and will start.

If only we had another good DM type to play alongside Brown. Wanyama, Kayal, Ledley etc. It's a huge role in any team and to go into these matches with Bitton means you pretty much know you can't compete.

Sinclair, Dembele and Forrest need to defend from the front and Rodgers needs to get fresh legs on asap for them in the 2nd half.

Can't see it after the shambles in Barca. It's imperative we close them down in midfield. Rodgers alluded to this when saying we couldn't be as passive as we were in the last game.

4-2-3-1 for me. We need huge performances from Brown and Bitton this evening and the wide men will need to graft so that they're not getting to the byline and putting balls along the 6 yard box. Aguero will have a field day if we allow that.

I sincerely hope we don't go 5 at the back. Not at CP!

TBH, I think the 5 man defence was a mistake against Barca and was a major factor in us losing so may goals.

It's hard enough to organise a 4 man defence, far less a 5.

Best avoided unless you're lining up that way regularly - and we don't!

I hope we play our usual game and just try and score more than they do!

I reckon we might see a wee surprise in the line-up tonight. I'm thinking we might be set-up in 3-5-2 for tonight. With Jozo sneaking into the line-up alongside Toure and Erik, Lustig and Tierney as wing backs. Brown, Bitton and Rogic with Sinclair playing off Dembele.

Personally I would prefer 4 at the back. Lustig right, Tierney left and two from Toure,Jozo or Erik. Brown in front with Forrest on the right, Sinclair left. And Bitton & Rogic in the centre. Dembele up top. Rogic, Forrest and Sinclair will be key to getting us forward and up the park. Dembele for me up front, I know it was Killie on Staurday but his hold up play, lay off and play others in was superb.

With that you can bring on Roberts and Griffiths who can offer something different if needed. And the extra centre half when we're 2-1 up with 5 minutes to go.

They need reminded of a few home truths !

For me Man City epitomise everything that is wrong with football ( and especially English football) today ...

Not so long ago they were a mid to bottom table team trying to stay in and even relegated...by two divisions ...

Then what ? Big Arab sugar daddy's with 'money no object' approach just basically buying their way to trophies, making player fees and wages obscenely high and doing their little bit to add to the general stench and murkyness of the English game.

At least whatever Celtic do tonight will be down to a 'within means' financial approach and a genuine hard earned European heritage...

Celtic had already won 'the big cup' a yeAr before Manchester City even first qualified for the competition.

So they might have the big money and big players now...

But we need to remind them just which of us are the former champions!
(Take a good look at those stAtues outside Man City fans - tell your kids!)

Give them little respect tonight Celtic!

This is Parkhead and we are Celtic - European Champions 1966-67
