Absolutely everyone I knew/know growing up, would have him in there best ever premier league team at right back..... Probably still today no doubt ..

85 caps, team of the year 3 time's on the trot, 5 in total, as well as European team of the year , 2 European cups, about 5 or 6 league titles, countless domestic cups..

Last I'll say on this, but most overrated fb of his generation is just bonkers..

Youd have to imagine they will be throwing everything at getting the early goal to attempt to quieten the crowd, demoralise us. I think if we can stay 0-0 for half an hour, we will have a fair chance of frustrating them and taking something out of the match.....but more than ever, we need a clean sheet as long as possible.

Im cautiously hopeful in a not really kind of way!:smiley-laughing002:

Neville was an annoying *, but an absolutely superb full back.

I remember getting abuse off someone in here during Izzys glory year when i dared to suggest he was not in Nevilles class!:smiley-laughing002:

Would put Lahm above him. Zanetti too. Thuram?

Would have had Lillian Thuram, Zabaleta, Lahm, Pessotto, Javier Zanetti, Zambrotta... probably a few others as well as Cafu.

Neville was good, was extremely consistent but he was never in the world class bracket for me. He was the type of player that Ferguson loved in his squad and he worked hard to make up for his lack of talent. Good defender, not one of the greata for me.

Cafu was a tremendous player, incredible to watch.

Seen him in that charity match that Robbie Williams organises and he could probably still play even in his 40's, fit as a fiddle.

Last off topic one but just realise I said Zabaleta when I definitely meant Zanetti then said Zanetti again haha.

He's a cracking player as well though, be interesting to see him up against Sinclair tomorrow.

Had to get the last word in :icon_mrgreen:

Zanetti was brilliant, as was Zabaleta..

I genuinely think Sinclair can exploit the Zabaleta of today with his pace, and directness on the break..

After Cafu, Zanetti, Thuram and Zambrotta who were about his age he was as good as the others like Angloma, Salgado, Sagnol, Pessotto, Reizeger, Lauren and that for me.
