Never saw that game TBF. Going back 6 years to find a bad European game for him, that's pretty consistent.

He was good that night period IMO. Someone had to calm Neymar down (or wind him up) as he was causing us real problems, only wide player I've seen at CP (so far) with the beating of Lustig.

Broony was just unlucky that he came up against someone even wilier than he is, but he was doing what a good captain does and trying to deal with a problem for the team.

It's not *, mate. Putting players off their game with sly digs is part and parcel of the game. Even as far back as 98 I remember Rieper or Stubbs talking about trying (and failing) to "calm down" Viduka when we played Croatia Zagreb.

Broony is very, very good at this psychological aspect of the game (did a good job winding up Pirlo earlier that year, for instance) and I clearly remember watching the game in the early hours of the morning (I had avoided the score and pLUSpISTOL had sent me the link) thinking someone better do something about Neymar because he was really causing us problems.

Unfortunately Neymar countered with a triple somersault with twist as if he were in his death throes and the referee bought it. Also part and parcel of the game TBF.

Aye, can't understand how people are seeing the situation differently. His petulance cost us.

Anybody have any idea how many tickets have been sold so far? Had a look yesterday and looked like almost a sell-out, but had another look just there and they have released some more tickets...

Was going to bump the sonic attack thread but it's been locked. :54::54:

If the lack of a sonic attack costs us the tie, I'll not be happy. :47:

Who do you think would win between Malmo and Brugge, cus going by tonight's performance we'd wipe the floor with Brugge.

I think Ronny will go with that tbh, I think he rested Forrest at the weekend and gave GMS a chance to stake a claim but he never. 4 other midfield spots pick themselves and I think he will pick Ciftci again, he's started him in all the other European games plus Ciftci has probably been training like a madman knowing its his only chances of games these European ones.

I think the biggest Dilemma is who we put out wide. Johansen is a shoe in for the 10. Before the weekend I was thinking Forrest and Commons. But then Armstrong hit a double and Mackay-Steven did nothing again...So I'll be very disappointed if he starts. I think I'd go with Armstrong and Commons and bring Forrest on to run at them.

In fairness to Broony, he was apparently struggling a lot with an ankle injury that season.
