I think he is fit mate, aye. Well, maybe not top condition but I don't care.

    My side would be:

    Gordon

    Janko Lustig Sviatchenko Tierney

    McGregor

    Armstrong Rogic

    Roberts Griffiths Dembele

Normally I'd never have considered playing that midfield but I think we should.

Forgot about McGregor. I'd start him 100%. Drop Brown if he's carrying any injuries, if not then drop Bitton.

    McGregor Brown Armstrong
    Roberts Griffiths Dembele.

Harsh on Rogic, he could have Armstrong's slot.
Long term Ajer is going to be our next massive defensive midfielder, but for the moment he's going to have to play centre back, as Ambrose was hopefully left in Gibraltar. Would have issue seeing Jamie McCart play instead of him either.

I like the idea of Ajer centre half as I'm not sure we'll need 2 proper centre halves on the park with the possession we'll have.

I'm a fan of playing a tall central midfielder there in the right circumstances. I remember Ki playing there for Swansea in the league cup final (against Bradford?) and it worked a treat due to their possession and the size of the park. If a team is sitting deep with one up there he's effectively a spare man anyway and an extra passer on the park.

I was looking for Scotland to do it against Gibraltar at Hampden. Thought Strachan made an * of it playing with one centre half and 2 full backs. Should have had McArthur/Fletcher in the back 4.

Lots of talk on Twitter saying he doesn't rate Roberts. Take it as you will but thats what I've seen. Really surprised he hasn't had a decent look in so far.

Swap boyata for simunovic when he is fit.

I think we will annihilate them at home, decent pitch, home crowd, normal temperatures and everyone sufficiently roasted after the first abysmal display.
An early goal from Griff in his usual position should start the the ball rolling

Decent shout Dev, Ciftci took up that position against us when he played at Utd and he was quite effective. Held the ball up and won most goal kicks in the air directed at him. Certainly not the worst idea.

And was by far our best player when he came on the other night and has generally been one of our best this pre-season.

Cannot believe we haven't signed a left winger yet. Astonishing

Roberts should be perfectly capable of playing there. This inside forward pish needs to be put in the bin. Although GMS as the backup isn't great.

    Same.

If I were in charge I'd get a big black CDM, a left winger and a centre half.

Wouldn't put Armstrong in that category, really think he could have a good season if he's giveb a chance.

He looked quite dangerous when he came on the other night, in the middle of the pitch. Armstrong will surprise people this season I think.

Armstrong has looked at it all pre-season and the other night. Which was refreshing.

Ciftci on the other hand? He is a useless lump of wid in his actual position, why then would we play him out of position?

The front 3 next Wednesday should be Dembele, Griff and Roberts with Griff central. Whether that means Roberts playing behind or Dembele on the left it doesn't really matter. Griff is our most important player.

As useless as he is he's more useful than the others that have been playing. Would you play Dembele on the wing? Doesn't look his game at all for me.

Would be happy with that in a diamond though.

Hearing people talk about putting Dembele out wide is so frustrating, it just doesn't seem to be his game at all. I'd argue the same with Griffiths.

Agreed. Which makes me think 2 up front, I'd be happy with one of Rogic/Roberts/Christie behind the striker.
