Legia Warsaw are big supporters of Palestine, probably because of their hate for Jews.

I think this may be the first match that we concede a goal but I expect us to put a few away ourselves.

3-1 Celtic

Hello. It's my first post here. I'm not big Celtic fan but I like The Boys. In confrontation against Legia, I will be support Warsaw team. Probably I will never registrater here but you provoked me when I read something like that. It's so disrespectful for every Poles who know a little history of WW2.
That is lie about our simpathy. We love Jews, many of our die for Jews , not only in WW2 but also in 1945-67 but now, Jewish people doing similar thing Palestinan like German doing Jews in WW2. Poles have support for the same reasons Palestinian which we supported Jewish and helped them in the death camps. In other words, we are allergic to such things. This is not hate. This is only protest against silence aprobate by the whole world. That's all Legia fans try to say. Please, don't search silly reasons or don't make them.

The second one. Warsaw fans are normal. You don't should afraid anything. We are crazy but only in support our club. Atmosphere will be extraordinary. You will see. :50:

And the last one. White boys, it's not racist. It's became for our kit. Look closer.

and fans ...

Celtic is of course a better team. As Legia fan, I don't have no doubt but don't underestimate our club. We play worst against week teams so 1-1 with Pats, it's misleading result.

OK, sorry for my poor english but it's not my native or english not even my second.
Good luck and have fun. :50:

See you in Warsaw.

Probably best not to talk too much about 1945 with all the Polish lads signing up, I'm sure they'd rather forget that.

I was in <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Warsaw last year and watched Polonia v Legia, a local derby. Polonia's stadium has a rather small capacity. There was the usual fan's rivalry you find in local derbies, but no unusual hostility.

I found Polish people very much interested in English and Scottish football. A lot of them watch the English Premier League via satellite.

Sorry, I didn't mean to generalise all Legia fans but some do have very extreme right-wing leanings and, if I'm not mistaken, have displayed anti-semetic banners in the past??

Anyway, Legia fans are fantastic. I certainly won't underestimate Legia Warsaw and I expect a very tight game.

No problem. My intention was only to explain the misunderstanding. :86:
Of course, it is true. Polish society are right-wing, most of them. I mean, not only Legia fans but to be honest, a big part of polish people. It's direct connect to occupation by Soviet Union who hit hard polish society but extreme wing - very few (society and Legia fans).

Everything was change on 2011. We have new chairman who manages Legia and from two season we wrote a new chapter of history our club.
It will be very tight, intence and (i guess) nice to watch. We expect an good result on Lazienkowska because Celtic didn't play well on away.
Moreover, you will play not on Celtic Park but in Edinburgh, and in that case, we see a little bit advantage.

I seem to remember during the early 80's that Glasgow was fully supportive of the Polish Solidarność movement and Scotland still had strong unions.

I had a quick look on the internet but don't see much .. probably due to no internet at the time. maybe my memory is playing tricks on me ( or the union bloke taking my donations was the one playing tricks). Anyone know where i might find some news/ pics or old articles ......

Ive never had a good experience watching football in Poland...last time I was at Wisla Krakow some * tried pickpocketing me at the turnstile...when I grabbed him and spoke English he * * himself dspite being about a foot bigger than me.

Poland is still in a timewarp and football watching over there is very 1970s.

Only positive thing I would say is they are loud and it will certainly be the stand out thing for anyone going out there.

Warsaw is dour to say the least, one of the least inspiring capitals Ive been too, only things I remember are the Stalin Building, Old Town, A Palm Tree in the main street and outside the railway station stinking of pish constantly.

Very possiblly. It was surprising to see our entire first team rested today. That'll make it 8 days since their last game.
