He was only referring to the hammer and sickle as a symbol and that it is offensive for many Polish people (which is very understandable, just as the UJ is offensive to many on here).

Well, there's some difference between Russians and communists, same as between Germans and nazis I suppose. Swastika is a symbol of some ideology (well, of course it's much older than Hitler and third reich but linked with him), not a country, same as 'sickle and hammer' is. It's not about hating a nation.

But I'm not here to argue or judge, I just say how this works. ;)

    That's it.

And what about flags or banners with Che Guevarra on them?

    Vast majority - yes.

    But a general warning :
If possible - when wearing scarves or holding flags - do not wander alone or in small groups around Warsaw.
In the best case scenario you will end up losing those flags/scarves.
    In the worst - hospital.
Luckily Legia fans do not carry knives or any other dangerous equipment so it would be fists only.
    But seriously - be wary.

    And it's not about Celtic.
Supporters of every other club in Europe - excluding Dutch ADO DenHaag and possibly Juvents - would need to be careful.

If you have been to/seen the atmosphere during EURO 2012 - forget about it.
This is club football which has nothing to do with the national team as far as fans in Poland are concerned.

Well, it's also considered as communists and left-winged symbol so it surely won't be welcome with applause, but I don't expect it to be a 'casus belli' ;)

Generally polish fans (not only in Warsaw) aren't friendly so fraternizing is probably a bad idea. Scarves and flags are good trophies so if you want to have quiet and easy trip just look around, don't be intrusive (is it good word?) to polish girls (not kidding) and have fun. If you want some harder memories.. well, have fun also. ;)

Oh, and one more thing: I have no idea how polish police will act, but be careful, those * really can be annoying and far more dangerous than any football fanatics.

Magicballballbhoy , you asked another poster did he hate American Germans and British , my answer if asked would be yes . Of course that wouldn't be individual inhabitants of these countries but what these Countries do and have done to the rest of the world . These Countries clearly feel that they should run and use the rest of the world .

But more important I have thought for years that when play a high tempo game , going at the opposition , no matter who our Manager was , we have done well.
Luckily playing all out pressing football is Deila's way of doing it . I just hope he does away and home .

my thoughts exactly :50: hate all the bullshit propaganda aswell trying to start trouble with other nations over bullshit usually, all really about natural resources and geopolitics

Scottish people are not very patient and thats 90% true of football fans

we traditionally like up and at em style 100mph in their faces, with hardly any subtlety to our game, all action style

i like action packed football too especially domestically we dont need to worry to much about defending as a team

but that changes in european competition any decentish oppostition is usually a team that would probably be 2nd only to us if they played in scottish football

so we have to take a bit more care of the ball and pick our attacks better in european football :50:

we were always capable of taking goals off of or beating most teams at parkhead but we usually lost away goals too and that and our away performances in europe got us kicked out in the early rounds of europe in the mid 80;s and all the 90's

I'd expect Legia to come at us a bit, rather than sit back like KR did.

    2-0 Celtic.

"your team is much better than celtic , celtic play in the weakest league in europe . if you play at least your 50 % you will beat them and reach the play-off"

Found this gem on the Legia facebook page, * had like 45 likes and was written by a bloke with a russian name. Cluesless:56:

all the smaller countries leagues have taken a bit of a battering whilst each nations best players are cherry picked for big clubs in other countries

so imo legia will be a youthfull team with no stars some decent players though

we should be good enough to get past them but no gallusness about it lets not take it for granted we want the team to expect a hard tie :50:

we're away 1st so lets hope we get a couple of goals and a win i feel we're certainly strong enough to play and beat them away and at home

Betfred have Legia as slight favourites for the first leg.

    Legia 6/4
    Draw 21/10
    Celtic 13/8

Legia are much better than anything we have faced in these early rounds over the last campaigns. They are a step above teams like Helsingborgs, HJK Helsinki, Elfsborg etc. This will be a tricky tie but i relish the challenge.

This would be my team for the game.

    Forster
    Lustig Virgil Mulgrew Izaguirre
    Kayal Johansen
    Griffiths Commons Mcgregor
    Pukki
