Watched the second half in the pub........was ok i suppose, but result is everything.
Its July after all!!

If it wasnt for the poor showing of the other Scottish teams, we would just be meeting back at Lennoxtown just now!

 

The team played similar to Lennon's usual style today, only worse. And that is saying something!

That mob were utter pish, we should be putting several goals past them without breaking a sweat. Instead we score a late scrappy lucky goal.

We have been in dire need of a decent striker ever since hooper left. But have now been left with not one striker that you could say is anywhere near European football level.

Add to that, our midfield has very little creativity about them. When they are in possession they feel more comfortable making meaningless passes in our own half, even against pish like the team the night. With commons being the only exception who is expected to carry the team each and every game. If he doesn't turn up we don't win.

Stokes, Griffiths, Derk, Commons...........I'd replace the whole lot.

 

And you want to play Tony Watt up front alongside Stevie May, right? Heard it already.

Most players are just going on their holidays, the mob we played are 11 games into their season.

Derk actually looked a player when he came on, first time all pre season. Got to the byline and put some dangerous crosses in, first time he has looked threatening and you choose that game to lay into him?

 

You've not heard that from me but hey, you've got something there I suppose. More concerned about the midfield!

 

so what would Brown have done different in that midfield?

I don't care if it's July or June. We should have much better players than that mob tonight. Hate to sound arrogant but we can attract a better class than an Icelandic team. Brutal. Can't remember feeling so uninspired watching the Hoops!

 

Erm... Not a whole lot of midfielders in your list there?

 

What he always does for Celtic and Scotland! He makes things tick much, much quicker in midfield, gets players involved and gets them playing better. On top of that he creates and takes on players! Nobody else was capable of that and Charlie is a good player but never Captain material.

We need about 3 players who will slot right into the side! If we don't sign them, the season will be over by August.
