Great high tempo second half, Showed have scored more. Can see us spanking this mob in the next tie. This is Ronnie Deilas first competive game in charge and i am happy with the result. Was pleased with his decison to take off Stokes and Griffiths, Pukki and Derk made a good impact when they came on. Commons had an outstanding game, He was non stop hammering shots. And young Callum Mcgregor getting the goal, Good on him.

I didn't see encouragement in the wide areas or the central strikers position. In truth I think that Deila should either review his tactics in order to suit our players (stokes in particular was extremely poor, a favourite of yours Sean) or sign a good few players to fit into his preferred system. If we do make the champs league proper our midfield 3 will be horrifically overrun and the back line will be annihilated.

What is going on here tonight? Seriously.

I saw a very rusty Celtic team playing their first competitive game of the season away from home (against opposition halfway through their season) and controlling the game, always looking comfortable, even showing the odd flash of good play and eventually getting the away goal that should see us through to the next round.

What do I see on this forum? Apparently Stokes played *, Mulgrew can't play midfield, Ambrose is scared of teams that play in black and white, some people arguing that we don't create chances (even though we hit the woodwork three times and missed some sitters) and others already claiming we don't have any decent strikers.

Why all the negativity, guys? Long way to go, but so far so * excellent this summer.

 

Not the most exciting game to watch but that's not surprising considering we are still building up our fitness levels and they made no attempt whatsoever to come out and play.

A 0-1 win away from home is satisfactory and will be more than enough to see us into the next round. Good for the young bhoy to get himself a first team goal as well.

Job done.

 

I really don't think we have a greater need for anything other than the front 3, it's easily the weakest part of our team.

If Ronny wants to play two wingers then we need two wingers, Jimmy and Derk can't be relied on to stay fit or play well when fit (Derk) and if we are going with one through the middle then we need a striker who is comfortable playing on his own through the middle.

Midfield is fine if we are going for pace and creativity down the wings and the back 5 are tried and tested and I have no worries about them.
