the ball goes the opposite way, the defender hits the ball first and follows through.

 

Looked like Stokes saw the guys leg and tried to initiate the contact but because the player pulled his leg out the way there's no real get-out for Stokes IMO..
It's no different to what other strikers do though.. I see it every week on MOTD in the premiership and penalties are often given and the pundits on the sofa usually say the striker drew the foul , was cute , clever etc..

 

Watching the game, giving a honest option. The ref made a few mistakes but Celtic must be more clinical with this amount of possession, hoping for a soft penalty to win games is the forty of this other mob.
