I'm always the same but just want it really badly, now more than ever. We need to do it.

I think the fact other folk are confident is making me worse:smiley-laughing002:

I'm dreading the match. I hate watching Celtic games when there is so much on the line.

Always tend to watch the match a second time when we win, way more enjoyable.

After the signings we've made, the quality we have at essentially every position and the tactical layout with which we are supremely adaptable thanks to Rodgers, I'm confident we can get the job done and get back to where we belong to be.

That being said, after the signing's we'd made in January and summer of last year, I was very confident going up against Malmo that we had the quality and the drive to make it in. It's going to be a nail biter. Last year I was home for the Malmo games and we blew it, this year I'm debating on calling in sick to watch, but maybe luck will change if I stick it out and catch a bit of it at work... HH everyone! We can do this :50::celt_2::shamrock:

Really think we are better prepared for this qualifier than any in recent years. Brendan has the team in a much better shape, more tactically aware, and more attack minded. I'm actually more confident than at any time the last few years and if we get an early goal to settle the nerves i reckon 4-0. Get yer money on lads.

Im not confident but not worried either :smiley-laughing002: don't really get worked up about football that much as theres nothing you can do.

Choking to win though and get back in the big time, hopefully meeting Bayern, Real or Dormund or 2 of them if we can. Maybe even get back to Seville again. Will be delighted with a clean sheet even a 0-0, will put them in a tricky situation for the away game where they won't want to open up and go for a goal incase we get one and leave them needing 2 while they cant let us score again.

Clean sheet is vital.... cue us going 1-0 down in about 10 minutes :54::31:

‘And, obviously, when you have chances at this level, you have to take them.’

A Quote from Brendan's recent Press Conference before this game.

We really need to get a new striker in the door after this tie (Which we'll hopefully get through), because this quote isn't something I'd associate with Griffiths at European level.

At this moment sadly, should we get there, I can see Griffiths struggling in the group stages. He seems like he needs a few chances a game, he's not really a striker who can be starved all game and still pop up and score. That's what the group stages could be like, even at this stage it'll be very tough, you HAVE to take your chances at this level. There's still question marks of Dembele's finishing in terms of how clinical he is at this stage too. As we progress the defences get tougher and the chances that fall to us get fewer and fewer, I'm still very uncertain about Griffiths when as the level increases.

I thought Rogic went missing in his European appearances last season. Remember him looking out his depth in a home game (Ajax maybe?)

Not much option right enough with Armstrong looking poor. I'd be tempted to go 4-4-2.

    Regarding Griff..

He has played a massive part in us making it this far..

He got the crucial away goal vs Astana & then scored his penalty in the home leg to kick things off, he then linked well with Dembele to win the 2nd/winning penalty.

Should we make it to the CL proper, then he deserves his crack at the group stage.

We wouldn't be here were it not for Griffiths' ability to take chances...oh and link up but shhh he can't do that.

Griffiths will score at any level as long as we create one or two half decent chances for him. His instincts are too good, he comes with a guarantee of goals. Works like a dog as well. Baffling that people still aren't convinced by him. There is no striker in world football that buries every chance he gets. Not even Messi, and definitely not Ronaldo.

Look, let's see how Leigh does over these two legs and we can get a better feel of how he'd do if we go up another level in the group stages. But he has to show he can take chances even if there's not many, in tight games a top striker makes the difference when he takes that single chance that changes a game. We all know Griff is good when we're playing well and creating plenty, let's see if can do it when it's a tough game and chances are limited (not saying it will be tomorrow, but certainly in the group stages). At the moment the jury is rightfully still out until he proves himself at that level.
