Aye, he stood out in the Olympiacos tie as being one to watch.

Watched their game against Haifa and he was causing problems too. Is their captain back next week?

They're gonna need to get 4 goals at least, because I can definitely see us scoring again.

Great share Gary...cheers.

Rodgers was the calmest [looking] man in Celtic Park last night, that is a superb way to be. To ask your own players to remain calm, then as Manager you then jump about like a fool, that can confuse players. When it went to 3-2 he stood, got his mind on the issues, clapped, didn't panic, and his subs and change of tactics at 3-2 to throw another striker in Dunbelle on, as well as add Bitton to the defence proves he knows how to get a team to function at 100%, yet he says "The team are a long way away from what I want" AFTER just seeing your players score 5 goals against a very disciplined side is unreal. The players who know they are in his plans must be in awe!!

This here someone else picked up on...

In the 1st interview he says things like "While I am here" and "No doubt I will go elsewhere in my career", he has a right to say. I just PRAY this isn't a quick fix, then to see him head hunted back to the English Premiership. I hope he is just being relaxed, but would not rule out staying and getting his statue, because he is simply a remarkable guy and top class manager who takes full control of his players, in the correct manner, just an honesty a player or just anyone can't not respect

In terms of 'going elsewhere', I said the day he signed if you offered me it I'd take a successful 2 years from him. I think that's the most you can expect these days in football and if he went after 2 I'm sure he'd leave an excellent squad behind.

Yeah, hard to disagree mate.
My worry is, if/when he does leave, would our board revert back to signing 'Guesswork Prospects' and not quality Rodgers has added because it's needed. Rodgers would never have [No disrespect to these guys]have signed GMS, Armstrong, Ciftci, Allan maybe Christie and a few others. He is signing utter quality, he is getting players here because of the respect he holds in the game Example with Sinclair, giving the guy a superb platform to develop further and go and express. Sinclair wasn't superb last night, but it was the biggest game of his life, he made £Million in England but that stands for nothing with our demands we place on players, so although older at 27 years old, the guy needs to learn what playing for a Global Giant with fans who RIGHTLY demand the best from the custodians in charge of our club, historically, and today we ask, demand of them, to keep us on top or try.

:shamrock:

PS: I am not pushing the guy out the door here, but the thought of Rodgers doing to Celtic, what Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United would be a generation of what we seen last night, but will only get better

He is still only 43.

Could very easily stay, get the 10, 5 European Cups, 5 Super Cups, 3 Club World Cups, 5 Scottish Cups, 4 League Cups, and * off while still in his 40's.

Just in from the game and thought we played good.

Defensive area for us put in a solid shift and vital at times especially Lustig and Toure stopping their inside attacks. Lustig impressed me the most if im honest the commitment was top drawer its a shame he is injured?
Tierney looked fine on the left for us but can see he struggles to maintain that duty of getting up and down the park during the whole game. Around the 80th mark he was struggling but im sure that will come to him with a good few more games into the season.
O'Connell does well, so strong at holding that back line but can be caught out flat footed. He has potential.
Gordon usual performance not great - not pish, was needed when required.

In the middle our positional play was good, surprisingly good. Can see the shape of our Team come on with this under Rodgers. Rogic has great potential, better than I suspected seeing in the flesh after a few years under his belt. Happy for him. Hes impressive with tight situations.
Thought Sinclair was isolated half the time when he got pushed out by their wingback, while waiting on Tierney to give him the support it kinda caught us up in possession at bit. He really should have buried that chance when he cut in from the left hand side.

Griffiths was just sensational tonight... Like what a player he is. The headers he was pulling out by putting that effort in was class, proper class! If he continues this he is going to be some player for us.

Pushing up to the final third with possession was a joy to watch don't know why we aren't more direct because when we play arm length Football we give the opposition that extra spare time to assemble, it was predominant after they score their two goals, we kept sort of retained and cut out our risky attempts of passing. Can see in Rodgers philosophy that we are coming on in that respect, a couple of tweaks to that with a new signing in the middle of the park and we will look really satisfying.

I think we need a Box to Box Midfielder/Number 4 in our side. Callum McGregor doesn't cut it for me especially trying to play that system Rodgers has implemented. He was at huge fault for the goals and deserved to get replaced.

Can't wait to see us as a finished product. A goal over there in the second leg will see us unequivocally through. :50:

Martin O'Neil left 11 years ago and I still wince and get a little sad when I see him or hear his name, I never did get over him leaving, although I loved Strachan and Lennon neither of them replaced that empty feeling I had for O'Neil.

Brendan has done it for me I no longer feel sad about O'Neil cause we got a man on his level or dare I say it above him!

Please for the love of all things that are good in this world can we have Brendan for the next 5 years.

Aye great point mate, he is the same age as me, lol.
All the above would be a sensation. I only hope he keeps feeling the 'Celtic Family' compassion, desire and togetherness then thinks "* it, I am staying here to be THAT LEADER OF MEN Tommy Burns told me about"

:shamrock:

5 years at least we hope chief, for the reasons I gave above
Great comment!!

You can see we have a good base in this team, its well aware but when the finished product does come it will look really good and I can't wait. If all goes well we will be exciting in Europe.

I'm still not completely composed after that game today. Didn't help that I was sneaking the game in at work.

47:51 on the Full replay of the match you see Rodgers screaming for Sinclair to cut it back to Griffiths to put us up to 6-2 :icon_mrgreen:

Big Jock once said "There is never enough goals in Europe" :86:
