mate, butch has got a raging hard on for Kayal. He could score 5, save a penalty and set up 10 and butch would still be complaining that he should have had 7 goals, should have caught the pen instead of conceding a corner and was too greedy in front of goal. logic aint gonna win that argument for you.

For me, Forrest and Stokesy were the best on the night. I know people were down on Stokesy because he hit the woodwork and argued over the penalty, but I thought he was very creative and made a lot of chances for others.

The shot off the bar, was a very narrow miss that could happen to anyone. That angle is tough. The arguing with Ki over the penalty--very poor form, but I don't know any striker who wouldn't want that shot. Still, shouldn't have argued.

Can't believe no one has really commented on the terrible refereeing? A handball in the box wasn't called (though * knows we might've missed it), several dubious fouls called against us in unimportant areas, but also several no-calls in very important areas (right outside the box) for us. I'm saying this as someone who watches League of Ireland and Major League Soccer games...the refereeing was some of the worst I've seen.

    I'm not picky.
So Lennon should just sit back and take the criticism then should he? The guy's trying his best to get through a difficult patch and from what it looks like takes pelters from a fan at the end of the match and he's supposed to just act "professional" and be calm about it? Fans have a right to shout their frustrations but it's different if Lennon gets it direct, especially after we still WON the * match.

Whatever was said towards Lennon he had every right to actually give it back to him. It was probably the sort of fan who is happy about nothing. And it's always easy shouting the * from the stands but I'd like to see them do a better job. Lennon was probably more * about the way the match ended than any of us.

We started to take the foot off the gas from about halfway through the second half and it did get nervy towards the end BUT we still got the win and at this particular moment I'll take a win every single time. PLUS we're one win away from being only four points behind the filth - BIG difference from what it was like only a mere week ago.

    absolutely:50:
3 points is the main thing.and come saturday ill take the same.
cant go from being so bad to winning 6.0 every game in such a
short time, there are going to be some stutters along the way.
cant understand lennon getting abuse for winning.
some people who dish out abuse know nothing about football.
the missed penalty gave the opposition a bit of hope and belief
and made us a bit nervous as happens in games all the time.

What I find curious is that Lennon is taking pelters from some sections - unjustifiably IMO, for the way the side performed in the second half. Ironically at the moment there seems a good bit of nostalga sweeping through the site atm for the days of WGS... Ironically, WGS's side won alot of their games far uglier than Lennon has the current team playing & that is what Lennon got pelters for last night... odd.

Played brilliant first half, played good first ten minutes of second half, then we started playing terrible, I honestly thought they might have equalised at the end there.

Yes, he was very good at linking the play and covered a lot of ground switching sides with Forrest and even playing through the middle. The quick passing he was involved in along with the other guys up front really dismantled Dunfermline. McCourt just doesn't offer us that, he stays on the ball too much and a lot of the passes he eventually played were back to the defenders.

How we only won that game by a single goal is beyond me, should have been about 7 nil up at half time as we were excellent first half.

Second half was completely different and we were rotten, the heads went down after the penalty miss and the fact we were clinging on at the end beggars belief.

3 points will do though, we're starting to get a bit of momentum.

I fail to see how we 'were clinging on'. There was a touch of nervousness because all it took was 1 mistake but we were in complete control the entire game.

They took the single chance we were given and we squandered at least 5 properly gilt edged chances.

no way are Dunfermline a good side, so take the score as it is, but don"t think for one minute, we are a great team, as there a loads of faults in our play and players abilities. as for the first half perfomance, i think i would rather forget rather than try and boast about.

You'd rather forget our first half performance? Why?

I agree, saying we were clinging on is a bit harsh. I mean I was nervous, but after they scored they hardly really threatened us in any way.
I disagree. Maybe no need to go boasting around, but apart from the very start of the game, we were in full control, played some very nice football passing the ball around and created a lot of chances. My only complaint is that we were too wasteful and we can't really afford that.

well for one the missed chances, it makes it look comical, as opposed to skillful. the first goal was a gift, the attempt on goal the failure of them, makes us look bad, when you consider they had 3 chances, scored one brought about a good save, had they had more chances we would have been made to look stupid. profesional players should not hit a ball wide at penaltys never, only two things that has to happen 1 the keeper saves it, 1 in a hundred, the next it should be a goal. any player that can"t put the ball between the sticks
should not be taken penaltys after all as the name says penalty kick.
