Commons touch is way off. Shadow of the player he was last season.

Thought today's performance was one of the worst so far this season, utterly abysmal.

Moving Johansen back to accommodate Commons was a poor decision. Johansen has been playing very well in a more advanced position, whereas Commons just slows everything right down. One striker as well is getting annoying, Scepovic nowhere to be seen again.

Stokes as well. * *, he is utter garbage 90% of the time. I know he scored but his performance was perhaps the worst out of everyone.

^ Agree. Playing Johansen and Mulgrew together in a 2 man midfield was stupid. Johansen is too lightweight and completely wasted there. Not sure why Commons started, I know it was his first start in a while but he was utter * today. We were really poor.

Sad to say but your spot on. Even allowing for the fact he has missed a month with injury he was way off form today. In fairness to him so was most of the team as well. We were very poor today especially defensively and with the quality or lack of it of our passing. I guess on the balance of chances created we just about deserved to win but that was about it.

Commons has been injured for a month, give him a break FFS.

Even the greatest players need time to get 'match-fitness' after an injury. You can run and train all you want to get fit again, but it's not the same as playing a match.

If anybody took a month out of their job it would take you a few days to get your head round things again and footballers are no different.

Thought it was average at best. Izaguirre and Forrest had good first halfs, Stokes and Guidetti linked up ok a couple of times, 2nd half Izaguirre and Forrest never done much, Stokes and Guidetti done nothing and nobody else really done anything.

Id have rated the team all 5s except Forrest and Izzy id have given 7s and maybe Stokes a 6 as I think he was more involved overall than Guidetti. Infact id have given Commons a 3, only times he touched the ball he lost it, forgot about him there.

Not really all players, players like Commons need time as even when he's fit he's not that fit :56:so when he's unfit he's probably very unfit.

Forrest for example, misses weeks or months constantly, yet when he does play he always plays well. He can be out 6 weeks, come back play 3 games put in 3 good performances then be out 8 weeks and come back and play well again.

Couldn't make the game on Saturday, so only seen the highlights. By the sounds of things on here though, what I didn't want to see, happened. I knew when I seen the starting X1 that Johansen was being dropped back into a position where he struggled badly this season for us, which I can't fathom out why. Brown was out, and we had a natural replacement in Kayal, so for me, it was a no brainer. Johansen has to be played higher up the park, and if that means leaving Commons out of the team, so be it in my opinion. Johansen has more to his game than Commons for me, and I really don't think Commons fits into the system Deila wants to play.

Johansen was moved to accomodate Brown being suspended.

Which shouldn't have really been the case in my opinion. Kayal was the natural replacement, and should have come in for him, leaving Johansen to play in the same position which has seen him find form again.

As murphy said, he shouldn't have been. Kayal was the obvious choice.

What's the point of moving Johansen back into a position where he struggles rather than keeping him in a position where he has been scoring and getting MOTM?

Commons has no place in this team, just hope Ronny feels the same.
