Fantastic result from yet another patchy performance. 20/25 good minutes, then revert to giving the ball away too easily and letting them play like the home team.

The part where Broony, Johansen and Izzy went after after one DZ guy, while leaving their striker with the freedom of CP to play in was worrying. Broony was telling Johansen where to go but it was too late. Surely Johansen should see that himself, no?!? It really does look like Ronny tells him just to run about daft everywhere the ball goes. Boy looked a real replacement for Ledley last year but just looks clueless now.

Still, 4 points is all that matters. Now for Hamilton Accies. Seems every game is huge for Ronny.

Exactly. Some seem to think it's practically a free 6 points! They'll more than likely give us a game right now, the way we're playing. Another international break coming too to disrupt the flow again.

lets hope this display will get some fans off the backs of Stokes and Commons they are two of the best players at the club, and we are a poor team without them in the first 11.

I made out a few with Celtic scarfs on. I bought a half and half scarf, don't usually do that :50:

A fully fit Lustig and Forrest would make such a difference to our team. We're missing them terribly.

we will be so much better when we have those players back ...no more ambrose or johansen in the team once matthews , lustig and mulgrew are back . No more tonev once forrest is back, Mcgregor is a huge player for us and Guidetti will score goals in the europa if we get through to the next stage . We will look much much stronger.

It's good to see a fan of another club come on here and congratulate us on a win instead of the usual * we usually need to put up with :50:

There were quite a few Croatia CSC fans over all very proud to wear their Celtic colours, A fair few were also in the Cairde shop buying up Bobby Sands and Che gear. Some had come over without tickets but most of the ones I met in Bar67 all managed to get one ok.

Had to laugh though the guy who runs the place had heard about groups of BBB going on theft raids so he was prepared with a baseball bat behind the counter.:icon_mrgreen:

Things are slowly coming together. We should probably have been 3 up at half time, they predictably came at us second half but apart from a few slips where Gordon rescued us we kept them at arm's length. Some of our pressing and passing were really good, we jut need to work on doing it consistently for 90 mins. Good times ahead!

Loved Wakaso's little chop inside the defender. Should have found the target.

I would have rated the team as

Gordon 8 4/5 good saves, especially the one we were wide open
    Ambrose 7 defended quite well
    Denayer 7 same as above
Van Dijk 7 same as above
Izaguirre 7 got forward quite well and defender ok
Brown 8 won the ball plenty of times and held possession well under pressure
Johansen 6 not that effective during the game, shut down and worked hard though
Wakaso 6 played quite well but didnt do much going forward
Commons 6(5 or 4 if he hadnt scored) didnt really do anything other than score
Tonev 6 defended really well and got forward ok at times
Stokes 6 few nice moments of good link up play but we never really got beyond him at all for him to do much

I'd give Virgil an 8. He was excellent last night.

Thats the usual for him though, anyone we play he absolutley dominates their strikers :icon_mrgreen:

I cant think of a single game where Van Dijk has been ripped apart by another player, generally if they run at him he takes the ball off them, if he competes in the air he wins the ball and he probably runs past strikers more than they run past him.

Commons was terrible last night, but the goal made up for all the other unforced errors.

He was (probably don't notice it as much 'cause he just strolls through the games) but I thought Denayer played better, particularly first-half.
