I'd keep it simple and stick with the same team that won today perhaps switching Mulgrew for Loovens (who doesn't exactly relish bigger games). I'd maybe consider going 5 in midfield to take care of Reyes and Falcao but we're shocking at 4-5-1, we're at home and they are beatable if we can get at their somewhat frail defence.

The major problem is that it's hard to say what Atlético will show up. Inconsistent once again this season, just got pumped by their rivals Real Madrid so morale may not be great, may see the Europa League as a distraction, and may underestimate us.

On the other hand they can guarantee qualification with a win, will want to make up for a big loss and are probably genuine contenders for the trophy so may see it as their only chance of silverware.

We can definitely win this one especially if we get an early goal, but it'll be nervy.

Is Falcao a doubt or what?

I think we should keep the same team from today, except maybe mcgeouch at lm instead of sammy, then we could have ki samaras and bangura off the bench in the 2nd half to change the tempo of the game and through athletico off, spanish teams usually have trouble coping with such drastic changes in a game

I think it does matter because he hasnt spent the required amount of time in our academy (although he was with us at younger ages) because he was at rangers. Thats why the likes of george, mcgregor, twarzdik, and chalmers have been on the bench in europa league games and he hasnt. I think if we had wanted to play him we would have had to register him in our europa league squad. although im not 100% certain he cant play and i would happily be corrected.

McGeough is not registred, neither is Rogne (injured anyway). El Kadd is out coz he played EL Quali for Kiew earlier this season & Blackman out as he only joined us a week ago. http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2012/clubs/club=50050/index.html

    My team (4-3-1-2):

    ------------- Forster -------------
    Matthews - Maj - Loovens - Mulgrew
    ------------ Wanyama ------------
    ------- Kayal ------- Ledley -------
    ------------- Forrest -------------
    ----- Stokes --------- Hooper -----

Subs: Zaluska Fraser Chalmers McGregor Ki Samaras Bangura

not agreeing with most of the teams.
Loovens and maj were solid yesterday, despite it being a much smaller team than althetico they can still do the job.
Forster played well aswell he actually saved the ball a few times..
the same team as st mirren if there in the same mind set would be great, but its down to their fitness for the game

    .................forster...............
    matthews..maj..loovens..mulgrew
    .....kayal....wanyama....ledley....
    .................forrest...................
    .......stokes............hooper......

the maj/loovens pairing still scares me, but for the sake of consistency, i'd keep them in.

    -------------------Forster----------------
    Matthews-------Maj-----Mulgrew---Ledley
    -------------Kayal----Wanyama----------
    Forrest--------------------------Samaras
    ------------Hooper------Stokes----------

Lets see if Samaras can do it two games in a row. Hopefully but I doubt it. I would rather have Commons in there but dont know if he will be fit and Lenny wont drop Sammy after his game yesterday. Kayal and Wanyama will have to put in massive shifts to keep these * quiet. I think Arda Turan will be their big dangerman so Matthews will have to be on top form as well.

3-2 win. Stokes(2) and Forrest getting the goals :shamrock:

I don't see any reason to change the team from Saturday.
    :zaluska:

Should be tight, probably a bit scrappy, but I'll go 2-1 to the Hoops.
