Emboldened part is a crock of *, considering I've already acknowledged earlier in this thread that I'd eat my words if your lot can grind out a result at the weekend :smiley-laughing002:

We welcome competition for a number of reasons. It benefits not only ourselves, but the football in this country as a whole. Even better when it comes in the form a team other than the First Division side now masquerading as our old rivals.

There are a lot of overly optimistic fans in your support (or so it seems), but what harm? What's the point in following a club if you don't have some belief that they can cause an upset? It's similar to me having a belief we can beat Inter and win the Europa League.. It's very unlikely but it could happen (I feel).

Don't get me wrong, I feel no threat from Aberdeen for this league title, but if you aren't feeling a bit optimistic now then when will you start believing?
That's what Scottish football needed.. A team taking it upon themselves to rise to Celtic instead of sitting there patiently waiting (or hoping) for Celtic to decline.
Aberdeen have clearly risen to the occasion this year, 'asked the question' of Celtic so to speak, but I certainly think Celtic will answer that question and then some.

The belief inside Celtic Park at the minute is strong, but it hasn't yet reverberated outwith the East End of Glasgow. I don't think it will be long before people start realising the potential of this Celic side.

I believe they have earned the right to be confident by going on a run ,I feel it would be brilliant for the game if they were to get a draw or win ,don't get me wrong though, I want us to hump them but it would create genuine interest if they did ,I would also love them to have right go and make it a great game to watch .ill go 2 1 celtic and them to score first .

To be fair Ozsheep I and many others have said you will be hard to shake off. I do think however that if we win on Sunday it's all over.

I agree with this. They can push us just by being better than the rest, but games like Sunday should be the difference.

As for the game, obviously it's not ideal to be playing after such a big match in Europe, but we took the pressure off ourselves with our good run up until this point, so credit to the team for that. Sunday is much more crucial for Aberdeen, they need a win to keep in touch with us.

Sunday will tell us either way whether we have a title race or not. If they win, they'll be level on points with us (though we have a game in hand) with 12 games to go.

From there it would be up to them to keep it competitive. I actually think if they beat us on Sunday they would give it a right go.

I fancy us though. As long as Inter doesn't leave us dead on our feet.

My fear would be that your guys come out to prove a point and we don't rise to the occasion. My hope is that you suffer a hangover from Thursday, we smell blood and put you to the sword.

Aside from the potential tiredness factor, I think your midweek game is good for us as all the focus is currently on that. We can just quietly go about our preparations for the game on Sunday. For the 'challenging' club I think there can sometimes be such a thing as too much hype. DM has been very careful to keep everyone associated with the club grounded throughout the season. The players just need to focus on what they've been doing well all season.

If we can claim the 3pts then it's a very exciting time to be a Dons fan. If we don't, provided we've left nothing out on the park I'll be satisfied.

Aberdeen sold out their allocation of 1800 but we didnt give them more tickets, if we had opened up some of the closed section they could have increased the attendance by a couple thousand atleast aswell.

Would like to see us give them a right going over, and put them back in their box. There has been a lot of hype from the media about Aberdeen over the past two seasons, which I've never quite understood. They finished behind a Motherwell side last season that had lost a few first team regulars, and have been pumped out both cups this season already. They also lost the final that meant the most to them last season as well.

They have won a cup, they didnt manage that for many years and they were third in league. This season they are right now second and put Groningen out of the el qualification and managed to get a respectable result against Real Sociedad. Fair play to them. We will pump them on sunday nonetheless.

I'd take a draw in this one. We don't need to win this.

I can't tell who's sarcastic and who's genuine on this forum anymore.
