Fantastic night from start to finish. The fans were excellent and it was great to see a sell out crowd.

Every player had a really good game and even DDV acted when called upon. The formation, personnel and attitude was all about possession as a means to protect the defence, and it worked perfectly. Ntcham and Kouassi were both outstanding.

It’s great to see them break free of the ‘sitting midfielder’ title. They showed the can go forward effectively as well as get back and defend.

I feel we missed an opportunity though to grab another goal or 2 to get through the tie. They’ll be a different team over there.

I don’t think we should go too defensive. Play positively and try and get on the ball as much as possible. There’s obviously goals to be had against them and an away goal now is crucial.

Aye it was a refreshing line up, thought as soon as I seen it we’d be right up for it. Our midfield dominated the whole game.

We played well last night and it reflected in the crowd noise, one of the best atmospheres we've had in a long while.

Dembele's hold-up and link-up play was outstanding last night. Bit hesitant to attack crosses but that will come with confidence. He's looked a bit lazy of late too, so was great to see him putting in a shift and using his strength and power.

It was clear that Brendan wanted him to do the dirty work last night, something that he is actually very good at. Long may it continue.

Excellent result, did not see this coming.

DDV - I prefer Gordon, but big man did excellent. Although with either Dorus rubbering BR * gk pass from the back or maybe Gordon is the instigator maybe he's the safer option. Hardly passes out, and his kicks were a lump which caused them huge problems. Did everything needed.

Lustig - think he did well, didn't venture forward much and kept it single.

KT - Been back to his best recently, although didn't think he was as good as the rest, his defensive and offensive work were very unlike him. Honestly think he was decent, but that was about it.

Two centre halfs were excellent, wee slip by Jozo but strong throughout, Ajer was excellent.

Oli was good, work and power, but fkn awful set pieces.

Kouassi, seemed to be out widish, but did a terrific job.

Broony, played excellent commanding the midfield.

Mcgregor, had huge reservations but was superb, especially 1St half, just lacks that wee yard of pace and a wee bit weaker, but picked up great positions, fell away slightly 2nd half but delivered when needed.

Forrest, did a lot of work, and some good wide play, not as prominent as he was against Bayern, but still did well.

Moussa, looks like he can't score in a brothel with a gold bullion tied to his dong, but brilliant hold up and link up play.

Ed and Charly made excellent contributions too.

Can hardly speak after last night. What a game. Pity we didn’t take another chance or two but we kept the clean sheet and got the win so I’m happy.

Was walking into back into the centre after the game and the Zenit bus was getting a police escort down Oswald street to the Radisson. Was just walking past wetherspoons and was doing the Broony at the bus :giggle1:

Hope it doesn’t come back to bite me in the * next week :giggle1:

Didn’t like how the Zenit players were time wasting and playacting. Them doing the huddle before the game * me off as well.

Their fans seemed good though. Didn’t hear about any trouble and I saw some of their fans had their lights on their phones turned on at the 67th minute. :notworthy

Well, i think i should start thinking were going to get humped more often and well end up winning. Excellent * performance from us last night. Hadnt seen us play like that in europe in a long time and the 1-0 sore line was the only disappointment of the night for me. should have been 3 or more. Hoping next week we get a draw or even a sneaky win!
