Our most complete performance this season was the 3-1 win over Leipzig. If we played at that exact level every game then we'd compete in any Champions League game.

The problem is we do not have the consistency to do this. Better teams - better players - better tactics. They set up to counter-act our tactics, and are capable of doing it. That will always be the difference. The best teams can perform consistently. And can even win games when they dont play well. We need to play at our 100% all the time and I don't fancy us to geta win in the Champions League if we dont

 

Just reckon the only call will be in midfield, Cal and Engles but will it be Reo or PB??

I don't know anything about YB but I just hope that they aren't all big tall athletic types who will bully us and give us the fear every time they win a corner or free kick near the box

Celtic are 1/3, that is already giving me the fear.

If we play anything like we have recently (including. weekend missathon) then we'll falter, If it's Saturday with the shooting boots on we'll be fine, but if it's the lacklustre performances or lack of goal taking it could be a draw.

I'm hoping shooting boots are on and go 2 0.

 

These are the types of games that fear me more than any in Europe tbh. It’s one that we should be winning comfortably and if we’re at it we will, but there’s a huge amount of pressure on this game now due to not winning either of the last 2 games and also the level of expectation that comes with this type of game. If we don’t score early or start particularly well the crowd could end up turning pretty quickly and it’ll become a proper awkward night. Just hope the fans stick with the players and the players actually show up and are far more clinical than the last 2 games.

 

Yes their a really physical side, that is the way of football at Elite Level now. Teams in Europe always have big physical & athletic players. This is why I've been screaming out for a proper enforcer in the mould of Wanyama, I think a real CDM would take us up a level in Europe.

Any win will do. An early goal to keep fan spirit up would be ideal. Team needs a good backing from the off.

We need a defensive midfielder. Everyone shouting for McGregor to be playing further forward. This is all well and good....but I do not think Engels, Bernardo, Hatate or McCowan can play that defensive midfield position....well they could....but they'd get found out.

It's a player in the mould of Neil Lennon or Paul Lambert that we're needing to fill that role and they are not easy to come by. More recently Aaron Moy.
But we have no other players who are fitted to that position in my opinion

 

As much as I don’t like his daft coupon, Ryan Christie has turned into some DM at Bournemouth.

Always thought he’d excel in the position but was played all over the place here.

I've not seen much of Young Boys apart from some highlights and the Stutgardt game. Their defense looks to have holes all over it but they are more than willing to have a poke from distance if given room. It won't be a walkover but, from the little I've seen of YB we should have their measure.

 

High tempo, high press, none of the fannying about at the back. Get an early goal and the place will be jumping. YB will find it difficult to cope if we do this. 3-0 Celtic.

 

No such thing as an easy game. Especially in the CL. Champions of their country for a reason but when you look at their results this season I can’t help but think if we can’t beat them at home we don’t belong in the CL knock out stages

 

Need the 3pts from this as we will get nothing from the villa game

 

It's mental we've had so many midfielders but not had a proper 6 since Wanyama. Last time we qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League was when we had the likes of Wanyama & Ledley in the midfield who could both do that role.
