It's clear the biggest problem is at the back and we've done nothing about it. Not sure that's the manager's fault. A new GK and maybe 3 or 4 defenders are required at a minimum.

Preseason or not, to be beaten 6-2 at home is a bit embarrassing and hopefully it sends a message to the charlatans in the boardroom.

There looks like a severe lack of energy in this team as well, start of flying (albeit still a few major * ups at the back before they scored) then since their first goal we’ve looked absolutely knackered. West Ham far sharper than us.

We have been over run in the middle of the park as well. Like I said looking good going forward but getting caught out when our players are in the final third.

I don’t share people’s pessimism. Our back 5 (keeper included) is League 2 standard at best and nowhere near the finished product. This was always on the cards when up against Lanzini, Bowen, Benrahma and Antonio. Serious talent there and I’m sure the young lads learned plenty.

Midtjylland are nowhere near this WH side. I’m confident we can go through.

 

Glad I went for a bath before half time because * watching that dross. A lot of these players are not fit to wear the Celtic jersey.

Forget about this only being a friendly. What it does highlight we are a very poor team . West Ham are weeks behind us as well in pre-season. We need to strengthen badly

Just confirms everything we knew. We need new players asap especially in defence. I still think we can progress on Wednesday and start ok in the league as the standard we're playing against isn't great but to progress further in Europe and win the league we need players in.
I really can't understand the delay. I know players, agents and other clubs can mess you around but it seems to take us longer than other clubs to recruit. I get the impression our negotiators are always trying to be cute and try to get players as cheaply as they can even if it means a delay which then hurts us on the park - a false economy.
Still quite hopeful for the season as long as we get the players in.

 

I did say it would be a miracle if we made the group stages with that squad.

 

A pre season game, against a good side, in between Cl qualifiers, with a howling back 5, don't see any need for an inquest, no surprises at all.
