Kayal took a knock from a challenge from their cf but I think he is ok.

Yep.I was never good at statistics :icon_mrgreen: I thought Kayal was immense in midfield and Daniel Majstorovic was like a rock in defence, even Loovens looked sure footed beside him.Brown was very good in the destroying mode, which I think is his best role. All in all a lot of positives to be taken here.

Brown benefited immensely from Kayal and Juarez pretty much dominating the middle of the park, so there wasn't any pressure on him to control the game as captain, which he just can't do really.

I'm still not a convinced by him in general, but he didn't put a foot wrong tonight so fair play to him.:50:

I was scared too when they announced an injury for Celtic. Apologies for that.

BBC Sport - Neil Lennon satisfied with Celtic win over Utrecht

Lennon said he will have a check tomorrow on Kayal and Hammer, I was just about to say the same. Mention in the match thread, I had a bit of man love for Kayal, Just thrown it out there :56:but in all seriousness we have craved a player like him for years and years. Petrov was probly the last but I think this guy could be potentially better.

I noticed it a few times in the 2nd half with both guys but it shouldn't be overlooked that Sammy played a huge part in us getting 2 goals up so he deserves to be cut some slack and MAF played decent throughout..
As the commentators said "when Sammy makes an error it gets noticed by everybody" and sometime it gets scrutinised more than others..

here's an example of it from tonight.. [IMG]

Ball gets played around the Utrecht half of the pitch and goes to Sammy 20 yards from goal , he plays it straight back to the centre circle and the murmours go round the ground , then he gets the ball back and gets brushed of the ball too easily (bordeline foul though) and Utrecht start an attack..
On the days where he's not contributing it's criminal but on the days he makes a serious contribution it's acceptable to a degree but he does need to improve it and he's not the only one either.
