I don't think this tie is over yet. If we concede an early goal next week then it will be panic stations at the back again no doubt. :87: On the other hand, if we can get an away goal next week, which I believe we can, then they will need to score 4 and I don't see them scoring 4.

It's still there for both sides to win but we have made ourselves favourites with that result last night.

I already said it but have to say it again. I really enjoyed the game! Unlike most games in the past few years, this Celtic game was really entertaining!

I said after the game that Lennon should'nt touch the team for next weeks game and ill stand by that ,They were comfortable last night in all area's when it settled down and i wasnt to impressed by the Dutch although they will be better at home but i do think Celtic can and will score if they play there own game ,i dont want to see backs to the wall in this game ,i would go for it and get that goal ,they must open up so if Lennon gets it right we will go through .

Hmmmm.........I think I would be tempted to change the team next week myself. Listening to it on the radio it still sounded like they gave us a few hairy moments at the back in the first half and I have no doubt that they'll give us a few more next week. I think for us to start an away match in Europe with Samaras, Maloney and Fortune' all on the pitch at the same time is a bit risky and would leave us exposed. We could play the same system as we did tonight but maybe drop Maloney and Fortune' in favour of Izaguirre and Ki or Crosas. This would make the midfield area a bit more solid................

    Zaluska

    Cha-----Mastrojovic-----Hooiveld-----Izaguirre

    Brown----------Kayal

    Juarez----------Ki/Crosas----------Ledley

    Samaras

My hunch is we will need that away goal whatever happens.

Definetely puts us the favourites after last night. They need to score three goals at home and that's unlikely. Still, better trying for that away goal like braga did to kill the game.

Think your right about getting another goal Marky but just to ease pressure ,there was a couple of shaky moments in the first half but remember there was 2 new boys in defense if you like ,in Danny and the defensive Mid -Kayal but the game settled and they didnt impress me much ,im only a bit dissapointed that Celtic never got the 3rd .

Maybe if Lennon like you say took one away from the attacking role and tightened up a bit yeah that would be fine but all to often we have seen Celtic getting knocked out or beaten away from home due to trying to sit in or defend ,this team is different because of the tempo they played at last night ,there passing was crisp and quick and the Dutch found it hard going so i wouldnt change to much about it ,let the other mob do the worrying for a change and give them something to think about ,they will want to attack thats 100% if Celtic do the same there manager has problems ,hey ho .

Aye, we're no a team that can go away from home and just protect a lead anyway Rab. If it was the Huns they'd just go and play 4-5-1 and probably come away with a 1-1 and move on but we're nae use at that. I could see us conceding a couple next week but if we score ourselves then their couple won't be enough.

It would be pretty disappointing to go out now after getting that result last night. * it, let's just pump them. :icon_mrgreen:

Celtic got the win they wanted so badly last night so part one done ,but i think this Celtic team could be a good away team with the players they have at there disposal now ,there is a certain arrogance in this mob different from teams of recent years ,not saying there big-headed or such but confident in there own game and there is a confidence there as a team .:50:

Mark and Kenny, your right about needing to score. If we sit back and try to hold on for a result we could be caught out. Lenny knows this I am sure. He'll be asking the boys to try and score and early goal to kill the tie.

Our midfield was really good last night and the defence seemed 100 times better with the big man in there.

Cant wait for Hooper to get back, cause with all the chances we are creating we should start scoring goals a plenty.

think Hooper would have missed that chance Maloney had?

They only had one player last night an it was Lensky, an ex celtic youth player, I thought van wolfswinkle may have been more of a threat but the big man had him all night! I can see us beating them over ther, should have taken more off them last night. Overall am happy with the result and the performance, especially the 2 new lads :50:
